Web Forms :: That Assembly Does Not Allow Partially Trusted Callers forums.asp.net

Here's what I did... Create a .NET Web Application Add a User Control Add [assembly: System.Security.AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers()] to AssemblyInfo.cs Add the following Post Build event command: C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727aspnet_compiler.exe "$(SolutionDir)$(ProjectName)Precompiled" -p "$(SolutionDir)$(ProjectName)" -v / -aptca -f -fixednames -keyfile "$(ProjectDir)PropertiesNACG.snk" -nologo -d (note the aptca switch) Build User Control project generating the UserControlPrecompiled project and DLLs Create an ASP.NET Web Part (for deployment within SharePoint) Add a Reference to both the USer Control Project's DLL as well as the precompiled User Control DLL (App_Web_searchpartcontrol.ascx.cdcab7d2 in this example) Add [assembly: System.Security.AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers()] to AssemblyInfo.cs In the Web Part's CreateChildControls create a new ASP.usercontrol_ascx object and add it to the Controls collection Deploy everything to the bin Add SafeControl entries Add the Web Part to a page in SharePoint The error in the subject is thrown: That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers What gives? Both project's have AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers in their respective AssemblyInfo.cs file. The aptca switch was used to generate the precompiled assembly. The Web Part works fine if I remove the ASP.usercontrol_ascx object from the Web Parts CreateChildControls

Custom Web UserControl (vs2008 C#) - "not A Known Element" When Placed? forums.asp.net

I created (vs2008 C#) an "asp.net web server control" project. I then remove the default .cs and replace it with an "asp.net web server control" cs file which has a default name of WebCustomControl1.cs. I named the project CCContainer and renamed the .cs file as CCContainerA.cs, so the class name is CCContainerA. I then create a new (VS2008 C#) web application in which I add my custom control. After compiling CCContainer to CCContainerA.dll I create a reference to this dll in the web app, and add CCContainerA.dll to my web app's toolbox. When I drag my custom control to the webform I automaticall get this directive line: [code] [Code]

Package A Web User Control (.ascx) In A DLL For Use In Other Applications? stackoverflow.com

I have developed a paging control that I would like to use in a variety of applications, both C# and VB.NET.I'd like to package the entire thing, markup and all, into a DLL which I can add as a reference from my other applications' bin folders. If this is not possible, or is a very bad idea, what is the recommended method for deploying a web user control amongst multiple applications?(I like how easy it is to utilize Ajax Toolkit controls from a single DLL, although I'm not sure if those are custom controls or web user controls)

Visual Studio :: Incorrect Type Generated With User Controls Registered In Web.config? forums.asp.net

When we register our User Controls in web.config instead of on the page, we found the type is generated as System.Web.UI.UserControl instead of the type of the actual user control. Here are the steps to reproduce this problem: 1) Create a new Web Site 2) Create a folder called Controls and add a user control to this folder (e.g., WebUserControl.ascx) 3) Add a web.config to the site 4) Add the control registration to the web.config. E.g.: <pages> <controls> <add tagPrefix="test" tagName="WebUserControl" src="~/Controls/WebUserControl.ascx"/> </controls> </pages> 5) Add an instance of the user control to default.aspx: <test:WebUserControl runat="server" ID="test" /> 6) Add a Web Application Project to the solution. Delete default.aspx and web.config from the new project. Copy the Controls folder, Default.aspx, and web.config to the new project. 7) Right click on the new Web Application project and select "Convert To Web Application" 8) Take a look at Default.aspx.designer.cs. We expect to see: protected Controls_WebUserControl test; But instead we get: protected System.Web.UI.UserControl test; Let's try moving the control registration to the page itself. 9) Remove the "pages" section from the web.config 10) Add the control registration to default.aspx: <%@ Register TagPrefix="test" TagName="WebUserControl" Src="~/Controls/WebUserControl.ascx" %> 11) Delete Default.aspx.designer.cs. Right click Default.aspx and select "Convert to Web Application" 12) Take a look at Default.aspx.designer.cs. We get what we expected: protected Controls_WebUserControl test123; So basically whenever we register controls in our web.config, we get the wrong type in the .designer.cs file. In our project we have a number of commonly used controls registered in web.config so unless there is a workaround or fix, we cannot use WAP. I should mention that I tried many different variations on the path for the src attribute ("/", "~/", "./", etc).

C# - CRC For Cross Platform Applications? stackoverflow.com

I wish to use common CRC logic in a VB.NET or C# application as well as on a C/Linux application. I have one C/Linux application that interacts with a webservice (written in C#) and also a web application (written in VB.NET). For some data, I want to add a CRC to the data itself (say a file) from the .NET side and check for the integrity of the data (checking the CRC) on the client - and also vice-versa.

Adding C# Web Form To VB Web Application stackoverflow.com

Is there any way to add a C# Web Form to an ASP.NET 4.0 Web Application that is written in VB.NET? I had an ASP.NET 2.0 WEB SITE that I recently converted to an ASP.NET 4.0 WEB APPLICATION. It was mostly written in VB.NET with a couple pages that had C# code behinds. I've read the following article (the end section about mulitple languages): [URL] 1) When I converted my site to an application, it didn't seem to add an APP_CODE folder at all 2) I'm not looking to just write a simple class, I actually want to be able to add a WEB FORM with a C# code behind When I try to add a new item and I select which type of item I want to add, I am only given to option to add a VISUAL BASIC web form. I have a workaround right now. If I need a new web form with a C# code behind, I take one of my old C# web forms and just copy and paste the form and C# code behind into the project and then rename it and change the class name as well. Then i make my changes and do what I need to do. It seems to work, but I was just wondering if there was an easier way. You might wonder why want to put C# forms in my VB app. I wrote my app in VB (not well versed in C# but I can read it). I have a programmer working for me that is much more efficient with C#. I don't really have the budget to spend weeks/months getting her up to speed with VB

C# - HtmlInputHidden Control - Stop Name From Changing? stackoverflow.com

I have an asp.net page and I'm trying to add a couple of hidden HTML input controls. I will be submitting this form to another site (PP) so I need the names of the controls to NOT change when rendered. Is there a way to make ASP.NET honor the name property that I set in the code-behind? As an alternate, I don't need to dynamically create these controls, I can also just assign the value to an existing HTML field but I don't know how to do that with ASP.NET/C#

Web Forms :: Hosting A Windows Forms Control In A Page? forums.asp.net

I want to be able to host a Windows Forms control inside an ASP.NET web page. As a proof of concept, I'm trying to create a simple Hello World app. First, I created a Windows Forms control library named WindowsControlLibrary1. It has one user control named UserControl1.cs. I added a Label to the control and set its text property to "Hello world".Next, I added an new ASP.NET project to my solution named WebApplication2. Then I added a reference to my WinForm control project. In Default.aspx, I added the following HTML: <object classid="http:WindowsControlLibrary1.dll#WindowsControlLibrary1.UserControl1" height="70" width="350"> </object> Based on the articles I've read, this should work. When I run the application, the Default.aspx page loads without generating any errors. But my "Hello World" control doesn't display.

Crystal Reports Images Not Loading In MVC? stackoverflow.com

I'm using Crystal Reports in a Webform inside of an MVC application. Images in the reports are not being displayed, however, on both the ASP.NET Development Server and IIS 7 (on Win7x64). I know from a number of other questions similar to this that the CrystalImageHandler HTTP Handler is responsible for rendering the image, but I've tried all of the usual solutions to no avail. So far, I have Added the following to my appSettings (via http://www.mail-archive.com/bdotnet@groups.msn.com/msg26882.html) <add key="CrystalImageCleaner-AutoStart" value="true" /> <add key="CrystalImageCleaner-Sleep" value="60000" /> <add key="CrystalImageCleaner-Age" value="120000" /> Added the following httpHandler to system.web/httpHandlers (via http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2253682/crystal-report-viewer-control-isnt-loading-the-images-inside-the-report) <add verb="GET" path="CrystalImageHandler.aspx" type="CrystalDecisions.Web.CrystalImageHandler, CrystalDecisions.Web, Version=12.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/> Added the following to my Global.asax.cs (via http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2006011/crystal-reports-images-and-asp-net-mvc) routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.aspx/{*pathInfo}"); and routes.IgnoreRoute("CrystalImageHandler.aspx"); why the images still 404?

No Automation Like Selection Of The Controls And Selection Of Related Events? forums.asp.net

Being a VB programmer, event handling had been straight forward. Open the code file and you can see all the controls in the left dropdown and all the related events on the right dropdown. ASP.Net with C# is something different. For example, I have raised Button_click event on "onclick" HTML event of a button. Now,I go to my aspx.cs file then do I have to write the whole function definition code by my self? I mean to ask is that does everything have to be handwritten? No automation like selection of the controls and selection of related events. I mean I want to understand the difference between the way event handling is done in a simple Vb desktop application and asp.net web application with web server controls invloved.

C# - Uploading A File From A Local .net Application Through The HTML Form File Upload Feature stackoverflow.com

I want to make a local program in C# that manages files between multiple users. I want to utilize the file upload option supported by HTML Form/PHP from within a .net application, but I'm not sure how to go about doing this. Even a starting point would be awesome. Visual Studio :: Generation Of Designer File Failed: Unknown Server Tag 'asp:WebPartManager' forums.asp.net

I recently rebuilt an application using the new Web Application Project in Visual Studio (rather than the previous Web Site Project). I am using the January Futures CTP of Ajax and Webparts, (not to do anything with Ajax yet, just to fix drag and drop across browsers). A Web Application Project creates .designer.cs files for all of your aspx pages. I am getting a warning on pages that contain an asp:WebPartManager or asp:WebPartZone control: [Code].... Now if I try to add other controls to that page, Visual Studio can't update the .designer.cs file for that page and I end up with errors. I have seen many posts about correctly remapping web.config to use the Microsoft.Web.Preview assembly, and that does not seem to be my problem. I have that set up as recommended and my code executes fine until I try to add new controls to my page. I have moved the Microsoft.Web.Preview.dll to my bin and added a reference.

Custom Server Controls :: Create C# Controls On Server Side For Posted Data That Had No Runat=server forums.asp.net

HOWTO create ASP.NET C# controls on server side for posted data that had no runat=server on the client. I have processes needing to post files to a ASP.NET application. These processes must post without runat=server as such: <form ~~~~ to some ASP.NET/C#/aspx page> <input type=file name=MY_FILE ~~~> </form> On the ASP.NET page, in the Page_Load I would code somethign like this: [URL] Here is the trick, the control "fileLIST_FILE" does not exist because the HTML does not have runat=server on it. If the client did have runat=server the designer.cs would have somethign liek this: System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlInputFile fileLIST_FILE; With all that said, I want to make "fileLIST_FILE" on the fly inside Page_Load fromt he posted name of "MY_FILE". do not focus on the fact that this is a file upload. I would like to know how to do this for any posted FORM data.

Include Static Html In Mvc App That Doesn't Use The System Css But It's Own Styling? stackoverflow.com

I am using ASP.NET MVC 2 & C#. I want to include/embed an html page (raw text & styling; no forms) in one of my views as is without my own css styling (read: The site.css styles for the ASP.NET MVC 2 application itself) affecting it. I can access the page statically and open it in a new window and it retains it's styling; however, if I do: <asp:Content ID="loginContent" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <!--#include virtual="~StaticInstructions.htm" --> </asp:Content> The styling from the html & the site.css in the web application seem to get merged. I've added the following ignore route entries as well: routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.html/{*pathInfo}"); I also tried making a partial view control with the raw html in it and rendering that here. That gives the exact same results as this.
