My wife's new Razr M on JB has a 1 on her text icon. All messages read, none pending. My Bionic on ICS does not have that
I see I can access contacts by clicking on phone icon on the main screen and also clicking on contacts in the programs list. The latter has more contacts than the one in the phone dialer program.
this is the easiest way to transfer files to your Droid that I have found so far. Super Easy enjoy!! Motorola Media Link - Motorola USA
I'm sure this isn't news to any of you veterans, but this is my first android device so please bare with me. I'm using the facebook app and have noticed that neither the app itself or the widget show the actual facebook live feed or provide a way to access it.... Of course my next thought was "well what if I just use the facebook page in a browser window". Turns out that's not as simple as I thought! Apparently facebook not only has a mobile page, it also has a "touch" page that it likes to route you to. Neither the mobile or the touch facebook pages have a way to access the live feed either....
Im have trouble merging my facebook contacts and my phone contacts. I have changed the names so that they correspond with each other but for some reason they still appear on my list as two separate contacts. How do i merge them?
Has anyone found a way to take someone's facebook photo and add it to the Droid contact list? When I open my contacts, most of them have photos, which have been pulled from FaceBook, but 3rd party apps, such as Handcent SMS, only pull the images I have set for my contacts.Has anyone found a workaround to this issue?
Hey Android experts - First off, First Time poster, and long time lurker. I am thinking about getting the moto droid, and I heard that you can sign into your gmail account and sync all your contacts, but I have a question. What if I don't want my Gmail contacts to be syncd with the device, but I want to be able to check my gmail accounts, is that possible? The reason that I am asking is because I have numerous, like 10s of thousand contacts, and I don't want them all on the phone.
Is there any way to only link the contacts you already have on your phone to facebook friends? when I add Facebook to messages, my contacts show all the contacts i added into my phone + ALL MY FACEBOOK FRIENDS! i just want the facebook to be linked to the contacts i have on my phone.. if i try to delete some of the facebook people (no phone numbers, just facebook info), it says that im deleting them from my facebook friends list.
I removed my facebook account because I didn't wane all of my friends in my contacts, but a few of them are still in my contacts and I can't delete them!
I got my DroidX on 7/15 and on 7/16 linked all my phone contacts who have facebook to a facebook contact via social networking. I kike how the phone sets the picture, I like that in the contact entry it shows me thier status on facebook. What I don't like is that when I open up a contac that is both a phone contact and a facebook contact and I tap the facebook icon on the contact screen I get 3 options (view profile, write on wall, and poke). If I open up a contact that is only facebook and tap that same Icon I get 4 options (view profile, message, write on wall, and poke). Is there some reason linking the facebook contact to a phone contact needs to remove that option? I'd like to be able to send a facebook message from the phone to any contact as easy as I can send a text message.
Is there a way to make it so that the facebook contacts, etc, don't show up in your default contact list? I just want to show the names and phone numbers of the people that I have actually programmed into my phone, not everyone that I have on facebook.
how to set up my Facebook account to only sync with my existing contacts, instead of every Facebook friend I have?
Came over to the X from a Storm 2, the verizon rep brought over my blackberry contacts to the X.The problem is, when i go to phone, these numbers show up, but if i go in thru contacts it only shows contacts i have setup since i purchased the phone.I did a search and could not find this exact problem, any other former BB users have this problem?
I added someone to my facebook the other day, but I noticed that they didn't show up in my contacts on my phone. How do I update my contacts so that it will show all the people that I have added to my friends on facebook?
I linked my facebook to contacts and some worked and some didnt? is there a way to go into a contact and say "this is the contact goes with this facebook" and likewise "this contact goes with this gmail contact"... since the names in my phone are not the same as the way they are saved in gmail of facebook? like a Jeffery might be saved as jeff in my phone...?
Is there anyway to sync my facebook contacts to my gmail contacts to display email and pictures and all that good stuff. Can it be done through my phone or do I have to do it manually> Has anyone done this?
Is there a way to get facebook profile pictures into your gmail contacts? The main reason why I want them is for texting in the google voice app looks very plain without personal images. I tried just putting in my own images into my gmail contacts to see if they would show up in the google voice app and they still dont show up. My ideal situation would be to use the facebook pictures, but if I need to I will go the second route of putting individual images into my gmail contacts and sync them that way, but I can't get either to work
Is there a way to sync all my FB contacts with Google? I see the ones that I added manually to my phone added to Gmail, but I would really like to move all these emails in FB to Google (since the majority of contacts from my FB are email anyway).
I was just wondering whether there was a simple way to transfer single contacts between facebook and google? I don't want to add everyone on facebook to my phone contacts list, but I'd like to be able to put some friends I have as facebook contacts into my main list and the 'add to contacts' option in the call log doesn't work the way it does for unknown numbers. The only workaround I've found is to add to favorites, but they still won't show in the main list.
Found a perfect program for syncing my Google Contacts with their facebook account pictures (without using the sh*tty facebook app sync)..thought I'd share incase it hasnt been mentioned.Google Contact Sync | Heart of Angel..Worked perfect for me, especially if you make sure that your google contact names match the facebook names
I have linked my facebook account to my desire and I have a couple of issues that I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with: 1. I received a text message from my credit card company, who are not in my contacts list. The phone has listed the sender as a random facebook contact who is not in my 'people' list. How has this happened and how can I fix it? 2. I have used some of my friends facebook profile photos in my people list. However, when they update their profile picture, the photo does not change on my phone. Can I do anything about this?
If I receive a link in an email on my yahoo account I am unable to long press and open the link? Is this a known bug?
So i just got the phone today and i love it, but my facebook friends got added to my contacts and I'd rather not have them there. Is there a way to remove them other than manually deleting them one by one?
Sync my pix apk sucks. removed some bloat ware using titbck up. I backed all apps b4 removing. But titbck up won't let me restore them. They have a strike through line on them. I need the social networking.apk and motoblur contacts sync apk. Can somebody up loaf or let me know how to restore them. I'm thinking about sbf'or will a factory data reset be ok?
I don't want to add all of my facebook friends to my phone... can I control who gets added before I sync my account?
I am the proud new owner of a Droid 2. After messing around with it for 2 days, I finally figured out how to link my Facebook contacts with my already existing phone contacts, so I did not have people in there twice, under two different names! However, only SOME of them are allowing me to change their caller ID names. For instance, my Mom is on Facebook, so instead of having her caller ID as her FB name, it allowed me to change it to "Mom", but for other contacts, it won't let me. Any idea why, or how to fix this? Also, is there still NO way to get rid of the unwanted contacts without deleting them from your Facebook friends list? That is driving me nuts! I don't need ALL 225 of my facebook friends in my phone.
I recently synced my Facebook contact to my phone so that I could have their Facebook pic as the pic on my phone. I do not want to have all my Facebook contacts in my Phone. I tried deleting them from my phone but it says that I have to delete them from Facebook in order to do so.
Most of my contacts have 3-4 Facebook profiles listed under their contact information, but they all link to the same thing.
Works nicely for my X. I just downloaded about 8 gigs of my music. It sync'd my videos also. Works well, but you have to select what you want to sync in the settings. Took me a while to figure it out. Also, if you try to sync a DRM protected MP3, the X gets cranky and kind of freezes up and displays a get license in the notification area.
Cannot find a working link to the Chrome extension for this.
I am using the default application for email on the 2.2 OS. When I receive a link on my yahoo mail account I am unable to click on the link so it will open. Is this a bug in the software. I don't recall if this worked in 2.1
I've read the constant threads where people say, just find the friend on facebook, hold press their icon and it will do whatever. doesnt work at all, the only thing happens is if i quick press i get the chooser to email them, or view their facebook profile. what im trying to do is manually sync a contact on my phone with a facebook contact. on my friends droid eris he can open up a phone contact, hit edit and actually has a field for him to type my facebook name in and it will sync. there anyway to do this? im tired of only having like 10 peoples profiles actually syncing with my phone contacts and another 100 not synced..
Is there a way to manuallt do this?
I am able to hear everyone just fine but nobody can hear me (mic isn't working). It only works if I use speaker, but then everyone can hear my conversation. I tried rebooting, flashing different roms, removing battery but nothing solved the problem. I have recently got a refurb and I'm getting another one in the mail in 2 days, and don't want to root if it's causing problems with in-call sound. Also had flashed the froyo baseband, i don't know if this did anything cause I don't know if basebands affect the microphone?
I recently upgraded to the Motorola Droid 2. When I logged into all of my accounts the contacts came over and auto linked to Facebook...this is fine, but the Google contacts with phone numbers are being hidden by the Facebook contact info and not showing their phone number. Is there a fix for this? Do I have to sign out of my Facebook account to see phone numbers?
I've been using Google Voice on my Env Touch for about a year now but only mainly for the sms transcriptions as the Env Touch doesn't have an app for it. So, here's my main problem. All of my contacts are just in my phone. I don't have anyone's email address as all I do mainly is txt people or send them a message on facebook. I'm wanting to add all of my contacts to my gmail account so when I get my Incredible everything will be there. Right now my sms from GV just has the number and I actually don't know any of my friends numbers, they're just in my phone. *yes, technology can be a sort of burden at times* So I don't have a clue who the voicemail is from until I call into it. Is there any easy way of porting all these contacts from either my phone, backup assistant, or facebook? Also, do android phones take your contacts and your facebook and merge them into your gmail account?
When I purchased my droid a month ago, all the pics on facebook for the live/news feed were showing up perfectly. About 2 weeks ago, none of the pictures display. They only have a "x" next to the update. At the bottom of my profile page, there is an option that shows: Photos: Off - On - Max. The setting is set to On.
When i first got the phone, i opened up facebook. It updated my contacts with everything on there. Then i went to text my friend and accidentally deleted her from my contact list. I put her number back in but it won't update from facebook or show up when i want to text her. Can someone help me out?
So when you enter a new contact, if you have your facebook account synced, it will automatically put the contact's picture in there for you...BUT when someone updates their picture (as I know some have) it does not seem to update under my contacts. How do I fix this?
I just got a new Droid X and can't seem to figure out how to use extended phone numbers in my address book. By extended numbers I mean ones where I have inserted a "w" between the number and say a password that allows me to continue into my voice mail once it has been answered (ex. 123-456-7890 w 1234). When I try to use one of these numbers, I get a message from Verizon saying the number cant be dialed. Apparently the Droid is not pausing where it should.
I am trying to remove my facebook and twitter accounts from my phone since they took over my contacts list and I simply just do not want them. When I go to settings > accounts > then try to remove either of them I get the Removing Account box with the red bar and it feels up to the end. Then I get an error message saying "An error has occurred. Please try again." I have rebooted the phone and everything.I googled this problem and found many posts with the same problem, but no answers. Does anyone have a clue what to do ?
I seem to be having trouble getting notifications from the native facebook account. It doesn't seem to update very often either. Anyone seeing the same thing on the Droid 2?
Is this possible? When you add facebook it replaces all contact photos and I don't see a way to change that.
I synced my phone with Facebook for some reason, and now every friend I have on Facebook shows up as a contact. When I try to delete them, it says I have to go to Facebook and delete them as a friend. NO! I don't want to delete all my friends, many whom are there just for Farmville and some are even cats and dogs! I NEVER want to call them or email them (some are on the other side of the world!). I just want them for Farmville friends and NOT to be on my phone as contacts!
Does anybody know what system apk is responsible for syncing and updating contacts profile pictures and statuses from face book.I am 2.2 rooted, bloatware removed and I removed a couple others my self. But don't know what apk to re-install so my contacts automatically update. I used syncmypix but I am not a fan of it. I have downloaded both system apps zip files. I just don't know what I am looking for.
my contacts have doubled since syncing with Facebook. There are some FB contacts I'd like to keep, and others I would like to delete. I plan on deleting those but don't want them to re-appear at a later date. Is there a way to turn off FB syncing after just the initial sync? I think that's my best option at this point.New here so thanks for the info in advance and I hope to get enough knowledge to help out on the forums soon.
So when i go into my messenger and begin to type someones name only my facebook names come up or my favorites. Like i added 3 new people to my contacts since about 2 weeks ago. Yet when i being to type their name in messenger nothing comes up just facebook contacts. I have to go to contacts and find them then message them?
I know my girlfriends HTC Hero uses the profile pictures of her Facebook contacts for the pictures in her contacts on her phone. Is there any way to do this on the droid? I signed into the facebook app, but beyond that I don't know what to do.
When I synced facebook contacts, I had a handful of contacts that duplicated, meaning there was the facebook info and their info from my regular contacts list. In each case, I selected the entry that did not have the facebook info and chose to delete that entry. When I did that, for some reason the entry with the facebook info is the one that disappeared. So, I just deleted the other contact entry too. Then when I added the contact back in, facebook wouldn't sync with it. So now, even though these contacts DO have a facebook account and are still listed as my friends, facebook will not sync with those contacts. I even tried the option of syncing ALL facebook friends and the handful of friends I did this with will not come back. Anyone experience this? If you delete a contact with facebook info once, is it impossible to sync back the facebook option?
I like how when I enter a contact, if it finds that person on my Facebook it will add that info, and give me the options to see their wall, post a msg, etc. However, I deleted a contact and had to re-add them. Now it will not re-add their Facebook info. This doesnt happen to all of them, just ones I've deleted and re-added. Any ideas on how to add it?
I have done what most of you have done, 2.2 root, blah blah blah!!! Thx to all the hard working, talented devs! I removed some bloatware using TB and removed the apk responsible for updating my facebook contacts profile pics. I notice this yesterday as my wife had changed her profile pic and status they have not updated in my contacts. This has been going on since the night I 2.2 it and rooted and removed the bloatware. Does any body know the apk (system app) that needs to be re-installed. I have downloaded the system apps.rar file and have all of them, I just don't know which one it is.
I installed the latest Facebook app on my Droid today and found that it synced most of my contact photos beautifully. (I chose the second option: only to sync photos with my current contacts) However, one minor issue and two less minor issues: - For one of my contacts, the picture didn't sync. Dunno why but I guess I can just add the photo manually. - Another thing is weird. After making a call I've noticed that in my dialer's "favorites" tab, there is a contact who I am friends with on Facebook but whom I do not have the number for, nor whom I have ever called at all! This person keeps reappearing (with FB profile pic and email address) in my dialer app, but the person is not in my actual Google / Android contacts. Any ideas on how to fix that latter issue? Whenever I delete this person's listing from the Favorites tab, they keep reappearing after I make calls (to other people) O_o Oh, and since we're talking about the Facebook app.. - Is there any way for Facebook to use the Android notification system to let me know about any new FB notifications? As it is, I'll be on the computer and see some new notifications, but on my Droid I have to manually refresh notifications in the app before it knows about them. Kinda weird.
I entered in my gmail information to my new droid and it sync'd with my contacts on gmail, all 5 of them, 'deleting' my previous contacts. I say 'deleting' loosely because when I look through my contacts none are there, however if someone sends me a text it has them saved with their number. Is there a way to restore/retrieve my contacts?
So one of the cool things about Froyo is being able to check off Enable Automatic Update for market apps. So i have that checked off for like 80+% of my 80+ apps (that took a while to do let me tell you). Now i have had three apps have updates available since i checked off the box, yet they never actually automatically updated. I waited, hours, still never updated. Is there a setting i need to modify? Do i need to tell it what time of day to do it? Anyone else noticing this? I only really want it in apps that i don't care about reading the new features. But it is annoying that i have it enabled and it does nothing.
I seem to be having a sync issue with my Droid. When I add a contact to my phone, it doesn't sync into "My contacts" in Gmail; it'll sync into "All contacts". So, a couple of questions: 1) How can I get the phone to add new contacts created on my Droid into "My contacts" in Gmail? 2) I'm trying to understand the point of "All contacts". Why does Gmail want to keep a list of anyone that I've ever sent an email to? Otherwise, it'll be simple enough to just merge the two groups and call it a day.(Note: When I bought my Droid I did NOT have the VZW sales person transfer my contacts or any data from my old Blackberry to my Droid. I used Google Sync on my BB and synced my contacts from my BB to Gmail, then when I got the Droid, it automatically pulled my contacts from Gmail.)(FWIW, yes, I did a search and found two great threads: http://androidforums.com/support-troubleshooting/15042-how-do-i-push-droid-contacts-back-gmails-my-contacts.html and http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/15069-contacts-dont-really-synchronize.html but I have a different situation than most of those guys and I'd actually prefer to sift through and merge a couple of contacts from "All contacts" to "My contacts" every once in a while than deal with a backup and factory reset.)
I've done a search and couldn't find any definitive answer and couldn't figure it out on my own.Is there a way to select which name you want to display for linked contacts? For example, I have a contact with 4 linked profiles (phone, google, facebook, twitter); It is displaying the twitter name and I'd rather it display the actual name (from any of the other linked profiles). When i go to edit this contact, the first name and last name is what i want it to display, yet it still display the twitter name.
I know that they were listed in my contacts so I looked them up and to my suprise they were gone. As I looked around I found that ALL my Starred "favorite" contacts were missing. I checked online at the Google website and found the same names missing from my contact list. It was only the Starred names thet were missing. Has anyone else ran into this problem or know why it may have ate my Starred contacts.
I am not having a single issue with my phone, not a one. No contacts missing ,backlights not working, no rebooting on its own I absolutley love my Droid ,it even took two drops and not even a bruise. How many other of you are not having any issue with your DROID ?
Has anyone noticed the difference from the Droid Incredibles contact search and the Droid X's search. I loved the way the DInc searches for the names. I just upgraded to the DX and that is one issue I'm not too found of. Does anyone have any ideas how or what app could install for searching all your contacts like the DInc does? You just type (on the dialer) the persons name or number and it comes up with the names in a list
Currently if I add/modify a contact in gmail it will sync without issue to my phone But if I happen to add a contact onto my phone or change something on my phone, that contact is not being synced to my gmail contacts (it stays on the phone, just doesn't go into gmail as well). Thoughts? I currently only sync 'My Contacts' from gmail to my phone not sure if this matters or not. I don't see an option to sync the other way as I did when using Google Sync on my blackberry.
I downloaded an emulator, and was told i could put games on my phone. in the process of trying i must have hacked my phone. ask me how i have no idea. my android has been deleting the contacts off my phone and when i try to import them they never stay on my phone. its pretty annoying. if some one could point me in the right direction, i am new to the forum and i just want my phone to be back to normal and stop running slow.
I have come to the droid from treo/winmo/bb. On each of those platforms, they had a program that would sync contacts, calendar, todo, and memo from outlook. You plugged your phone in via usb, it would be detected, and voila, you would sync.I knew when I purchased the droid this couldn't be done natively. I have been able to get my calendar to sync with the google calendar sync app that so far runs fairly well. It syncs my outlook calendar to my gmail calendar. However, I want to sync my outlook contacts. Note, I did not say I want to IMPORT/EXPORT. I do know how to do that, and that is not syncing. I want changes I make on my contacts on my phone to show up in outlook and viceversa. BTW, I am running pop, not exchange. It doesn't have to be direct connect, it can be through the cloud. The only thing I have found so far is soocial.com . I don't know how this works, and I am looking to see if anyone has found an acceptable solution to this issue so far. 'The missing sync' is supposed to release something at the end of the month to address this, but their solution is $40 and I don't know how well it will work as a 1st release.
I am running stock 2.1. I do not want to downgrade and root. But, i would like to overclock. People say this is possible and to just find the app on the market. All the overclock apps i have found show that it MUST be root. Can anyone provide a link to an app that will do this? Or even the title of an app that can do this WITHOUT root?
I've been using Handcent since I've had my Desire, but since the last few updates it seems to have developed a fault when sending the same sms message to multiple contacts. If I send a message to say 3 people, it either force closes, or comes up with the error message not sent. If it comes up with the latter, the messages are queued & sent 1 after the other. I was able to do this no problem before, so has anyone else experienced this in Handcent?
I must be overlooking something.I am simply trying to get my phone to keep contacts synced with Google Contacts and I don't want "All" contacts just "My Contacts".Every time I send an email in Gmail, it automatically adds it to all contacts. It is going to bloat my phone.
For people who want a fully automatic way to keep both Calendar & Contacts sync'd both ways between Outlook and Google Gmail / Calendar. I've already done a lot of research on this topic as it is currently the most important item I've got to have working in order to keep the Droid. It seems like nobody really has a great solution yet, but there are some in the works. This thread can serve as a master list for Outlook sync software. Here is what I've found so far: CompanionLink $40 (released, sounds like the best currently available): Sync Microsoft Outlook with your Google account and your phone | CompanionLink Missing-Sync $40(update: Released. I have been searching Google and this forum but have not been able to find a solution. I have a Motorola Droid (running 2.2). My company uses Google Apps for their e-mail, calendar and phone directory. I have my personal Gmail account setup as the primary account on the phone and my corporate Google Apps account as additional account. I can see my mail, calendar and contacts just fine for both accounts. In Google Apps there is a corporate directory that I can search from while using it on my desktop. Is there a way to see the Google Apps Directory contacts on my Android phone contacts or elsewhere on the phone? If someone is not already in my own contacts, I would like to be able to lookup their phone number in the contacts on my phone from the Google Apps Directory. Is this possible? My boss has a Motorola Droid X with 2.1. Can this be done in 2.1 also?
I use a Droid and Google contacts. I hate Google's contact interface - it crashes Internet Explorer half the time - so I want to edit my contacts on my Droid and have them get updated on Google contacts. I tried this, but when I sync, the google data overwrites what is on my Droid. I've lost a lot of changes already. I tried deleting the contact in Google thinking the Droid contact would then become dominant, but the contact just got deleted on my Droid. But when I add a new contact on the Droid, it does go to Google. So it seems that all the existing Google contacts only sync one way - from google down to the Droid. I must change this. I need updates to happen both ways or else I need to make changes only go up to Google from the Droid.
I have contacts in my phone that Verizon brought over from my last phone (a regular phone phone... I carry a BB for work, have for years. I also have Google Contacts I spent hours getting in order in anticipation of getting this device. I can not, for the life of me, figure out how to back up the contacts now only on the droid to the cloud OR how to get the Google contacts information down to the phone. What I want to do is keep them in Sync and do the cleanup from a laptop/desktop one time, once the nasty merge happens.
I just got my xperia yesterday but for some reason i cant seem to send text messages when i put my sim in the new phone. i can receive them, make and receive calls and get on the internet no problem. i have also tried resetting the factory settings twice!
I have been having a problem recently with my phone sending text messages to random nonsensical numbers. i.e. I get a message failure because the phone tried to text "0110000100000" which is obviously not a phone number. I had installed handcent almost immeadiatly upon getting the phone. So I tried uninstalling it and putting on chomp. Still have the same problem. It seems to help if I use my task killer after using the sms app. I am running the original firmware that came on the phone from Rogers, as everytime I use pc companion, it tells me i am up to date, and the update service locks up my computer (and my laptop and my wife's netbook). I would rather not do a factory reset, but I am getting pretty close.
I recently bought a X10 mini/pro. Today I took a look at my latest invoice from the phone company. I was billed for sending a text message to a swedish phone number...........Searching the internet I found out that many people experience that their Sony Ericsson phones, by themselves, send text messages to a phone number belonging to Sony Ericsson, Sweden.
cannot send text messages on virgin network can call go on internet but cannot send a text but can send a mms so i dont understand someone put me out of my misery sms centre it says not set but will not store the number given by virgin
I've upgraded my software and have no problems with my phone, but now when I send a text message a tick appears in the dialog box. When I first got my phone I was being charged for text notification from orange so I'm just wondering if this tick has something to do with that? If so, how do I turn them off?
When i try and send a text message it says can not send, i have done an update too my phone.
I am new to rooting. Lurking for months and pulled the trigger today. Need help on overclocking. I installed the ChevyNo1-1.0Ghz-ulowV-7slot-update.zip kernel. Now I installed SetCPU and need help with the settings. Min/Max, Scaling, Set to Boot, profiles? Any suggestions on how to set it up?
What are your guy's setcpu speeds at primary and what are your profile speeds at?
New to rooting and just got myself setCPU. I was wondering what some standard profiles that people use to maximize performance and battery life. So far I have it set to underclock when the screen is off and when less than a certain battery percentage. What temperature should I be looking at as "dangerous" to set my cpu to underclock then as well? Any other recommended profiles?
I was using Locale for the past few days and it was working fine. I added defaults to it so I can have the ringer at high volume when I'm not at work. Well, once I added the defaults, it no longer uses my "Work" profile. I know it's not a GPS issue, because I have it set based on time. I've checked and double checked the settings, and I cannot figure out why it is keeping me in default mode while I'm right in the middle of my work schedule. Anybody else have this problem?
In each contact when i hit edit there is a account that says "Phone-Only (unsynced) contact" How to a make these contacts synced with Gmail?
Some have complained about not being able to change the LED or get repeat notifications for gmail. I stumbled on this last night and thought I would share. I haven't tried it and make no claims to its greatness.Gmail Notifier. It lets you change the color of the LED, vibration length, and gives repeat notifications. It also works for multiple gmail accounts I believe.
My girfriend just got the Eris and it synced contacts from her gmail, into her phone contacts. Was nice becase they couldent sync the contacs on her broken phone. Can droid do the same thing? Also it let her sync her contacts with facebook profile. This put the facebook picture next to the contact, and found birtday for the calander. IS this somthing that droid can do?
I am not sure if this is suppose to happen or not, but when I was in the store purchasing my phone I was told that my phone contacts would sync with gmail contacts. So far this has not happened. I have over a hundred contacts on my phone and when I go to gmail on my pc it does not have any of my contacts. Am I doing something wrong, or was I misinformed?
I synched with my Gmail account but it has synched "All Contacts" instead of "My Contacts" "All Contacts" includes, in addition to the contacts in "My Contacts" a bunch of emails from people that I may get email from and have emailed frequently but don't want stored in my phone. Is there anyway to synch only to a "My Contacts" or any group?
I'll be getting a Droid about the middle of next week. Most my Google contacts don't have phone numbers attached, just e-mail addresses. I also have a Google Voice account and number and plan on using it for most of my phone traffic (which really isn't all that much). About a dozen of my contacts are in there now with their e-mails and phone numbers. Most my e-mail contacts (a couple hundred) aren't divided into groups right now. Do I need to clean up my contacts before getting the Droid and syncing things up? Any tips for doing so if needed? I don't want to mess up my Droid right off the bat if there are some things I go do in advance to make getting up and running smoother.
I have 3 gmail accounts. 1 gmail.com and 2 @otherdomains.com but using gmails service. My contacts will only sync with the gmail.com address. In my settings everything is checked to sync. What gives?
My Google contacts sync up with the Droid X just fine, except that the groups on Google don't show up on the Droid. Also, groups on the Droid don't show up on Google. Also, Google tasks are not downloading to the Droid.
My brother had a VOyager that he transferred his contacts to the Droid X with Verizon's contacts manager. Now I'm just wondering how do we sync the contacts on the phone to his gmail account because they're not showing up.
I was trying to update my contacts on my Gmail account with exactly what is on my phone so I went to sync and the stupid thing erased all my contacts off my phone. Any idea how I can push all my contacts from my phone to gmail once I do a backup, thank god I had mybackup app.
After I installed and evaluated the Companionlink software for syncing Outlook contacts, calendar, tasks and notes to my Droid, I noticed the gmail contacts were no longer syncing via the gmail sync. However, the gmail calendar and mail were not affected. I uninstalled all of the Companionlink stuff but the contacts still do not sync. Anyone know how I can get the contacts to sync via gmail again? Short of "reset user data on phone"?
bought Droid Monday night and the guy at store was able to transfer my contacts from my Palm 700p.However, the contacts are not showing up on Google. If I make new ones on either phone or website, they sync. What the heck?I saw a thread that says it can take a couple of days, which makes no sense, but it's been a couple of days.
I'm not sure if this has been addressed but it's something I figured out on my own and thought I'd share with the rest of the interwebs. For gmail to access all your old contacts its a quick process (once this is done all your contacts will be in your gmail account which automatically updates anytime a new contact is made on the computer or your phone so you only have to do this once) Go to CONTACTS>make sure all contacts is selected at the top>MENU>MORE>IMPORT/EXPORT>EXPORT CONTACTS TO SD CARD>wait for this to finish>IMPORT CONTACTS FROM SD CARD>>>THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART>>>SELECT YOUR GMAIL ACCOUNT This import takes a couple of minutes, but once its done, ALL of your contacts on your phone will be synced with gmail and like i said before, from this point on, all newly added contacts are automatically put in the gmail account by your phone.
Question is, is there a way to show contacts in their "Groups"? They're all neatly organized into groups on gmail, but on the phone they just all populate the "all contacts" or "google contacts" in the stock contact manager. Is there a way to filter by group? I'm using an incredible and this functionality is build into HTC's "people". Am I missing something similar that Motorola has set up? Seems like theres gotta be a way to group contacts on here too.
I want to add a contact just to my phone and not to my gmail account.Whenever I start to add a contact (phone, 208544.menu, +contact, create new contact,) the next thing it forces me to do is to choose an account to create the new contact under and it lists my 3 gmail accounts.I have no option to just put it on the phone.Any ideas here?We do the same thing on the Incredible but it gives us the gmail account and the phone to choose from but not on the Motorola.
Hi All, I have an MS Access table that currently links into word as a mail merge. Great! Sample data as follows: Tutor Student Mr A Donald Duck Mr A Mickey Mouse Mr A Minnie Mouse Mrs B Joe Bloggs I want to produce a mail document that allows me to address each tutor separately, along with the respective student names in a grid. Now I've setup the document, but when I view each document it produces the list of all students for each tutor. e.g. Dear Mr A Your students are: Donald Duck Mickey Mouse Minnie Mouse ------------------- Dear Mrs B Your Students are: Joe Bloggs Is this at all possible? Thanks:)
when i receive a text message how do i forward it to a few contacts
