i consider buying assassin's creed for pc to play it on my dell laptop (see sig). any idea, how it will run? anyone with an i9400/e1705/oc'ed 7900gs, who already played it? is it worth it or do i have to turn down the settings too much? just for info: i can play gears of war, bioshock, ut3, cod4, et:qw, sega rally, orange box, stalker, etc. at max settings at 1280x800 res. everything runs smoothly like that. have to turn down aa or shadow qual. slightly down sometimes, though.
I have bought my new laptop 3 months ago.My laptop was running fine and I happily played counter strike on it.After some days while listening songs. My laptops speakers stops working than I go to the dell warranty claim centre they took my pc and change the speaker of my laptop and give me back after one week but after getting my pc back I am trying to play the counter strike game but when I run the counter strike game my laptop shutdown immediately. My laptop is dell core i5 n5110 with 4 gb ram and 1 gb nvidia graphics card.
I am looking for a way to replace an element value with another. What I have in mind is when a variable is equal to "Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood", this value is replaced by a new one. My XML is <Game type="adventure"> <TITLE>Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood</TITLE> <PUBLISHER>Ubisoft</PUBLISHER> </Game>
I there a way to change the location of the password box on the Windows 7 logon ScreenI managed to remove the Picture Frame on the login screen using instruction found on this forum months ago, but now, I am an assassin's creed fan, and I have changed the background screen to the Assassin's Creed Logo and would like to move the "password input box" down so that It does not end up n the middle logo.
1 month ago I bought a HP 15-N203. I had three games (1) Assassin's creed 4. (2) Watch dogs. (3) Dishonred. I never had the low memory problem but today I uninstalled Assassin's creed 4 and Watch dogs because I had finished playing them. Now I only have Dishonred, So while I was playing the game I got the following message : Your computer is low on memory-save files and close or restart. I am really confused because when I had three games on my laptop I never had those problems and now I only have 1 game and it's giving me low memory problem.. My specs are : i7 4500U 2core 1.8Ghz 8 gb ram 1 tb hard disk windows 8.1 64 bit Nvidia 740m
my dell inspiron 1420 computer laptop speakers are not playing why
Dell Inspiron laptop has a corrupted Vista operating system and needs reformatting, however he seems to have lost all the disks that came with the PC (except for the Media Direct 3.5 disk). My question is can I use a standard (non dell branded) Vista disk to install Vista on his laptop (using the CD key on the bottom of his laptop?) or do I have to use the original dell branded vista CD that came with the laptop?
I have games such as COD4, Crysis, and Assassins Creed. What are the best drivers I can get for this laptop in order to play these games with good quality? I've done some reading and saw that it's possible to overclock the GPU. Is this safe? Is it really worth it? I'd like to try and increase the quality. I've never really played Crysis or Assassins creed because it was a bit choppy. I have since installed the T9300 processor and havn't tried crysis since as I replaced my HDD with a 7200 vs the 5400 that was in it.
i have my dv5t since a while, but got involved in DotA, and have not really got the best out of my 9600GT. i installed assassins creed and OMG... it just lags like hell on high... i have the drivers from the driver thread (Nvidia 9200M GS / Nvidia 9600M GT: Version: 179.67 (Vista), 179.71 (XP) OS Support: Windows XP, Windows Vista (x86/x64) Link: [url] i took everything to mid and i can play ok now, but the video when this guy takes all his army to the assassins place, and there are tons TONS of ppl, it just laggs like hell ( the voice is over like 20 secs before the gestures are finished... ) i thought this card was supposed to play crysis on mid-high... what is wrong? is assassins creed more memmory hunger, or i have something bad?
i tried to install win7 in dell laptop, setup can not find harddrive, took out format it with pc, now ntldll missing
i have a dell 1420 laptop there is no sound when i play any audio but with headset i can hear, what might be the found
I just sold out my three week old macbook pro 15 unibody on ebay....useless filthy piece of crap...utterly over-priced block of aluminium. And now I am typing this on my DELL studio xps 1640 .I have a simple question, Will it be extremely risky if I try to overclock my gpu, ati mobility radeon hd3670 512mb gdrr3? Also, I am a gamer, but not one of those who faints if the fps drops by a point. I mostly play games like gta san andreas, cod4, world of warcraft, fear, soldier of fortune, assassin's creed, prince of persia, diablo, half-life, far cry , mafia, nfs etc. Is it necessary to overclock?
I have a friend who has a Dell laptop. She doesn't know much about computers, but her motherboard on her laptop broke 4 times. She has a solid warranty and Dell came out every time to fix it. How many times does something need to be fixed before Dell will replace the laptop? I thought it was 3 times, but of course if the customer is not tech-savvy they would have no idea that Dell is OBLIGATED to replace the laptop.
Can a dell lcd screen work in non-dell laptops, or do they use a non-standard connection?
My PC games like fifa 11, nba 2k11, assassin's creed start lagging today. It only started lagging after the match started (no lagging before menu screen) . It is not my pc spec that cause the lagging because I played these games for a whole month without lagging. I also noticed that my computer is a little bit slower than usual. I think the last thing I did is my assassin's creed crash and i pressed the power off button. The first around 8 times I played it, it didn't crash but after that it always crashes after 30-40 minutes i play. So I don't know what to do and press power off button, then wait for a while then press on again. And there is some new problem occur. When I'm watching video using chrome, sometimes it lag or just got no sound when the video is playing. Is it because of the graphic card or virus? I already scan with avira, malwarebyte and spybot. There is no virus according to them.My pc specs are asus n53s, intel i5, 4gb ram, 640hdd, window 7 and nvidia geforce gt540m 1gb.

I have the same PC config as a Core i5 2400 3.1Ghz,Intel DH67BL,4GB RAM DDR3 1333Mhz(2x2GB Corsair,Kingston),1TB Seagate 7200.14 HDD with no add-on cards. For some days I am not going to "play" graphics intensive games like Call Of Duty series,Crysis,Assassin's Creed series etc.So I took graphics card(XFX GT 240 1GB GDDR5) from PC and kept in it's box with electrostatic bag and silica gel and I hope it will remain in good condition for a long time.By the time,I use Intel HD Graphics 2000 Series and I think it will be sufficient for my current activities which include just watching HD movies and playing "chess titans" and "minesweeper".Why I did this becuase I just need to save power
I am a windows 8 user, and my wife bought me this beautiful ipad air, wifi only. but it is not playing nice while usb connected to my dell xps laptop. I have about 100 epub books i downloaded onto my dell laptop. I want to transfer them to the ipad, but I get connectivity issues with itunes on the windows laptop, and i am also having trouble with ibooks, I want to have my selections broken down into fiction/non-fiction.
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop and my mousepad does not work while typing. This is an annoying default setting and it prevents me from being able to play most computer games. I have already tried changing the dell touchpad settings (Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Dell Touchpad) to no avail, and I am not willing to get a mouse.
I own a DELL XPS 1640 laptop here in India [See Signature for details...]... AND, I finally gave vent to my DELL'ish' emotions and shot a mail to our very beloved Sir Michael Dell for the following issues Ever falling rubber bumps/guards on the left and right sides of the keyboard Continues scratching on the LCD and keys imprinted on it due to 'screen rubbing against keyboard' syndrome; Dust behind the LCD plastic cover coating; The heat issue; And last but not the least the infamous 1640 Throttling. I got a call from a Senior Dell Marketing person today and had a lengthy half hour talk with him. I tried pushing for replacement but since I got my DELL XPS 1640 laptop via a friend in U.S of A (I am writing in from India), who got it delivered to me here, they say this would be possible only if the system reaches back to the starting point in USA, from where DELL can take over (Dear DELL, I really dont have the luxury of time for all this playing around .....

My two-year old laptop (Inspiron N7110 Windows 7 64 bit home) s refusing to wake from sleep. The power button just glows steadily and nothing happens at all happens when I press it to try to wake it. I have to hold the power button down to shut it right off, then restart. I did a number of updates before this happened, including: -update Firefox -update Garmin Lifetime Updater -update Intel My WIFI to Intel Dashboard -update drivers for Bamboo pen tablet -update Norton antivirus software -sign into Dell PC Checkup on Dell Support Centre and downloaded and installed all their recommended updates. I did another Dell PC Checkup just now and everything passed. I have checked the power saving schemes and tried switching to different ones (I use the Dell settings). No Success. I tried playing with the 'choosing what the power buttons do' options in the power saving schemes - no success.
I have just bought a Dell Studio 17 in a IT shop. I made some reasearch on google and I found that Dell sell a carrier to mount the second hard drive on this laptop: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...88&lid=1022058 The problem is that Dell doesn't seem to sell it in Ireland. Is there any way I can get it? Is there an alternative adapter to connect a sata drive to the connector present on the laptop?
I have recently upgraded from Vista 64-bit to 7 64-bit. Before the upgrade I had installed and played many games (Battlefield 2 & 2142, FATE, Assassin's Creed, etc.) in full-screen mode with no problems. Something seems to have happened after the upgrade however as now I am not able to launch some games and have had many difficulties with the others. I have updated the driver specific to my graphics card as well as the Catalyst ones and have checked all the other drivers for updates only to be told they were the most current. On a related note, my Assassin's Creed is a digital download from EB Games. When I try launching it through DirectX 9 it asks me to insert the CD, and if I try to launch it by any other of the options, the CPU runs for about 5 seconds and then nothing happens. I say nothing happens, but that's not true. A Windows Error Report is created roughly named AppCrash Assassin's Creed for each time I try to launch it. As for the other games, FATE creates a process that runs in Task Manager, but nothing shows up on the screen, and occasionally Battlefield 2 does the same. Is there something that I am missing? I am close to going back and doing a clean install of Windows 7 (instead of having the upgraded version) but would REALLY rather not have to re-install all the programs.
So I recently custom built a computer and installed windows 7 Home Premium with a Dell OEM disc that came with my laptop and tried using my dell laptop's activation code. It doesn't work and I don't understand why. I used a dell CD and the dell code and it still doesn't activate?

I just received my new Dell UltraSharp u2412m monitor! Now I try to connect my Dell XPS15 laptop (via its mini displayport connection) to my new monitor via a mini displayport to displayport cable.Sadly it doesnt seem to connect and the monitor instantly goes into Power Save Mode..the monitor instantly works with an old laptop via vga connection...Plug and play...
Other than the Dell website, would anyone know of any deals/coupons or place where I can buy the Dell M6400 laptop for the cheapest price in USA or Canada? I can't work with my old laptop anymore as it was handed down to me by my brother who is a programmer.. I need a new laptop geared for heavy graphics, rendering, video editing, multi-tasking, and feel the Dell M6400 will take care of all that.
I was wondering if anyone on here uses a special size or brand of screwdriver when working on Dell laptops. The reason I ask is because we support a number of Dells here at the office, and my team mostly has an el cheapo laptop repair kit with a very cheap universal screwdriver set. I've noticed that the phillips head of the screwdriver doesn't seem to set very well into the Dell screws on the bottom of the laptop
Hey yall, I'm not a dell owner, but my friend is. I'm wondering...can you put RAM sticks from another, non-Dell laptop, into a Dell? Would this break her accidental warranty (she purchased it after accident, regular warranty is long over...)? I wonder because I have a dead laptop (HD died, screen died etc) that has 2GB of RAM in it while her laptop has a mere 512 and since I'm going to be helping her do a complete system reinstall because I virus has ravaged her files...
I got a letter from Dell today about their my "preapproved" Dell perferred account which i never apply for in the first place. I bought some PC and Laptop from Dell but i don't think i purchase enough for them to send me a invite for their perferred account. What's the deal with Dell Preferred Account? The letter said no initiation or annual fees, exclusive offers...etc. Is this like some kind of credit program with Dell? What's the real benefit for me? I figure there must be a lot of you buying Dell's ware and if you don't mind filling me the real deal with dell perferred account.
have a problem of setting the virtual memory, i dont know should i turn it off or leave it as it is or set it to recommended, a friend of mine said i should make the initial size half the recommended, and the maximum size = the recommended which is 6118 MB, i run HL2 games perfectly and so as Counter strike source and Team fortress 2, but i experience a mouse lag when i activate the Vsync, now, as for assassin's creed , i have the recommended to run assassins creed on the best of graphics, but in the gameplay, the fps drops to 55 in crowded areas, and it does that in many other games, so i am PISSED, I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, can some one please help me? What is the recommended size for the Virtual memory for a 4GB ram?
According to [URL] ..., Dell M4300 laptop bought several years ago might include Flash Cache Module. Dell BIOS allows to enable FCM. Is there a way to check whether the module is actually installed w/o physically opening up the laptop? What part number or name might it have in System Configuration on Dell Support web-site? It shows that the laptop was shipped with 200GB SATA HDD (part no WT611 - [URL] ...., but there are no components listed with "FCM" or "flash" in their names.
I purchased a Dell Inspiron 1525 in April 2008.About 1 month ago I noticed that my computer would automaticaly shut down when the power cord was removed, I hovered over the battery icon in the bottom right corner and it said 0% available plugged in, not charging. I googled the phrase plugged in, not charging and realised lots of people were having the same problem.I have tried restarting and shutting down my computer (with and without battery and with and without power cord) removing and replacing my battery (while laptop is on and off) a replacement battery from Dell my sister's battery and power cord (she also has a 1525)in my laptop and get the message plugged in, not charging. My battery in her laptop will charge but my power cord in her laptop says plugged in, not charging removing the battery with the laptop on then restarting the laptop and replacing the battery uninstalling and reinstalling the Power Management Software switching between power plans flashing with current bios All 3 batteries (hers, my original and my replacement) have adequate charge (50% or higher)I run with Windows Vista Home edition.I have been to the local Dell distributer and they tell me to call Dell. I have tried calling Dell but I keep getting put on hold for 30+ minutes.
So im about to buy a dell studio 15 next month and im still a little concerned with the quality of the battery. My current dell inspiron 9200 battery lost its charge a year and half in. Same thing w/ my brothers Dell. Do Dell laptops still lose their ability to hold a charge that rapidly or Has Dell improved the battery?
Does anyone know how can I get the video drivers for a dell inspiron 1100 laptop? I'm hunting for some elusive pointstick covers for several D-series latitudes. Specifically, the broad, flat caps that have about two dozen tiny rubber bumps on them. NOT the narrower, domed, classic "cat tongue" caps. The Dell website lists four possible parts: Manufacturer Part# 3X705 | Dell Part# 3X705 Manufacturer Part# KH487 | Dell Part# 310-7703 Manufacturer Part# 7X050 | Dell Part# 310-2870 Manufacturer Part# KH487 | Dell Part# 313-4188 ...but they all show a picture of the old cat-tongue caps, not the bumpy ones that came stock with the later D-series laptops .....
I really love the game Assassins Creed and recently I heard that its going to be released in iPad too, can you tell me when it is going to be released? will it work properly as in PC? How much does the app cost in iPad?
i recently installed windows 8 pro on my dell vostro 3550 laptop. i was facing with overheating and battery drain issues. i read in dell forums that dell resolved battery drain issue in bios update and now my current bios version is A10. but problem is i saw in other dell thread that A11 has some flaw in it and not advisable to update and that too previously my bios update failed and dell replaced my Motherboard. so how can i overcome overheating and battery drain issues ?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop with a Intel Celeron Processor and the past year my cpu has been overheating and eventually causing my laptop to shutoff. This happens a lot quicker if playing graphics intensive games or playing youtube videos. I want a processor that can handle playing games and videos. Also, one thing I was thinking was that maybe a fan stopped working that is causing the CPU to over heat but when I run a Dell diagnostic no errors come up about a fan not working, so I'm thinking I just need to upgrade. I am facing unexpected shutdowns while playing games. I have a Dell Inspiron 14z (n411z). Its about 7 months old. In the beginning , games worked very well on it but now when I try to play the same games the laptop shut downs without any warning. I ran the Dell diagnostics from the boot menu and it said, "Warning. One or more thermal sensors were out of range." and it was highlighting the cpu thermistor...

I have a PC with windows 7 Ultimate and has a bluetooth dongle connected to it. And then I have a dell inspiron N5010 laptop with inbuilt bluetooth and it runs on windows 7 home basic. The PC is connected to the internet with ethernet cable and I can able to connect PC with the laptop using bluetooth and exchange files. My question is how to connect to internet from laptop using bluetooth
I have one of the Latitude D630 laptops with the bad Nvidia integrated graphics purchased in January of 2008. Does anyone have a solution for this problem other than giving Dell $400 to fix a two year old laptop that will probably just fail again? No one is responding to the Dell blog http://en.community.dell.com/dell-bl...t-details.aspx . Dell knew they had a problem when they sold me this laptop which is discouraging to say the least. So now what am I supposed to do? Dell was the only vendor I trusted. Has anyone had to deal with this problem and what did you do to fix it? I am stuck in nv4_disp.dll infinite loop hell... Yes, the graphics chip is toast at this point. Please do not ask me to update the bios or instal latest drivers as this only prolongs the inevitable, complete failure. Is there anyone out there that upgrades these by sodering on a different chip or something?
I'm installing Windows Vista (64-bit edition) on my Dell Inspiron 1520. Previously I was using the 32-bit edition, with the Vista-32 drivers from the Inspiron 1520 page on the Dell website. As you know, Dell does not officially support 64-bit on the Inspiron 1520, although the processor is 64-bit capable. Thus, there are no Vista-64 drivers on the Inspiron 1520 page. I'm searching for appropriate drivers, but am unsure on the following issues: 1) Often a Dell Vista-64 driver exists on the Dell website, for the exact same device as mine, but for a different laptop. Especially when intended for newer laptops, these drivers often have a higher version number (and more recent release date) than the corresponding Vista-32 driver available for the old Inspiron 1520. Is it safe to install these? 2) Is it safe to install drivers directly from the device manufacturer? For example, can I download the Matrix Storage Manager or INF Chipset driver directly from Intel, or does the Dell version have customizations that are essential for my laptop?
First off, I'd like to say that this isn't an overheating issue, because I am able to play Computer intensive games (like Star Craft II) for 4+ hours with no problems, but I can't play certain games for longer than 15-20 minutes. So far it has only happened to me with 3 games: 1. Halo Combat Evolved 2. Assassin's Creed II 3. Brink If it was only Halo, which is an older game, my guess would be that it is a driver/compatibility issue. But when it happened with Assassin's Creed II and Brink, it totally baffled me as to what could be the problem. Before they shut down, They usually freeze for a second and then the screen goes black and then shuts down(without restart). Brink had the odd case of having it go a bit laggy, and the textures being blurry(not loaded properly) and then freezing>shutdown.because its making me feel insecure as to whether I should get other games, because I'm afraid my laptop will turn off, and I won't be able to play it properly.Oh I'd also like to say that after a shutdown, CS : S gets very buggy for a bit, and then returns to normal, I haven't noticed it on any other games happening though.
I have Dell Inspiron 1564 The dell support center PC Check showed my hard drive funnel seek test failed. Before I ran the PC check, the laptop flashed and shutdown. I restarted in safe mode and backed up all of my files, shut down the laptop again and restarted. I am currently rebooting the laptop, and have inserted the Dell Diagnostics and utilities CD and testing my hard drive. the following error code keeps occurring..No additional sense information Test Results: Fail Error Code: 0F00:1332 Msg: DISK - Block 4507 : Interrupt Request (IRQ) did not set in time The same message also occurred with the following Block Numbers, with the same error code: 45077746, 45077826, 45078082, 45078210, 45078338, 45078466, 45078466, 45078594, 45078722, 45078850, 45078978, 45079106, 45079234, 45079490. 45079618, 45080002, 45080130, 45080258 these are the block numbers so far, the test is still running.
I has bought a new E6500 from Dell store, and I heard people said that my laptop had a Dell Wireless 5720 EVDO Rev A Mini Card build in. But I can not find any driver to use this card, So if you know where is the driver download link, plz tell me My laptop link on Dell store: ...
I purchased a Dell Inspiron 9200 in Janaury 2005. It has been an excellent laptop since day #1, but an upgrade is now in order! Can ANYBODY have a clue as to when Dell will release laptops based on the new CENTRINO 2 line? I'd love to buy another Dell, but if they don't plan on upgrading the hardware soon, then I'll have to go to another brand.
I have a Dell Studio 1535 laptop that was given to me as a gift. It included Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit... I want to use the 64-bit version (it's an option when you initially buy the laptop), but Dell does not seem to have an option to order replacement OS recovery disks... Is there any way I can get hold of the 64-bit Vista Home Premium recovery disks for the Dell Studio 1535, or at least somehow install the 64-bit version using my existing 32-bit product key?..
When I bought my laptop, I was offered 5 years of Dell Complete Care Accidental Damage Protection even though I only had ONE year limited warranty. This was all over Dell Chat online support. The representative assured me that I did NOT have to extend my warranty past one year in order to take advantage of five years of accidental care. In other words, I would have no coverage on manufacturer's defects past the first year, but if I dropped my laptop four years down the road, Dell would replace or repair it.
Do not purchase the dell studio 14z if you plan to upgrade your laptop to windows 7, I purchased mine on the 30th from bestbuy and went to sign up for the program but because dell gave the laptop to them on the 18th of june it's not eligible, so I had to return it to bestbuy and order the same thing through dell. Definatly upgrade to the 900p screen, the 720 screens are grainy and u can see spaces inbetween each pixel causing u to see columns, my friends 14z with 900p doesnt have these spaces and has way better viewing angles.
recently had my dell xps m1530 motherboard and graphics card replaced by dell, Since then, whenever I turn it on I get a message saying " the charger is only a 65w and your battery requires a 90w charger ", Just before my laptop died and I called dell to come and fix my laptop, I was getting the exact same inconsistent framerates in games like l4d, Where i would usually get around 60+ fps, I was now only getting extremely inconsistent 25+ max fps..
Like an idiot i forgot to bring my express and now dont have wifi in my hotel room, but the laptop i brought (a dell) has bluetooth. so is it possible to connect an unjailbroken iphone 4 with the newest firmware to my dell, and use internet over the bluetooth? To clarify, I HAVE an internet connect on my laptop, and i want to be able to connect my iphone ober bluetooth, to my dell inorder to use the internet on my iphone.
my laptop is just at a black screen after the dell screen. I clicked the error checking for the "C Drive" and "At Startup" and when i restarted it just went to a black screen after the dell screen. I have restarted several times trying to get Windows 7 to startup with no avail. What should i do? Its a dell latitude laptop with like 2gb of ram intel core 2 duo proc (not sure on speed)
I have a Dell Inspiron 9300, about 4 years old. I bought it with 1 gb RAM, and I'd like to extend the life of it by a few months, and make it a little faster. This is the RAM that dell recommends for my laptop to upgrade: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/P...x?sku=A0758238 Unfortunately, looking at my order when I first got the laptop, it says this .....
I have a Dell XPS1330 and have a problem with it and I dont know if my laptop is still under warranty. I searched on Dell's website with my service tag and the only thing I found was that I have a "Rapid Response Depot"? What does it mean? Does it mean that I can send my laptop to Dell to be repaired?
I am trying to use the Dell s2009W display with an old Dell inspiron b120 laptop. But I can't get the max resolution of 1600x900 to show as option in the display settings dialogue. I previously used this laptop with another Dell display that had, I believe, an even larger resoultion, but certainly larger than 1280x768. There were no problems there.

I had to replace a failed HD on an Inspiron 1525. I followed the recommended install procedure in a previous thread[Dell Vista Laptop Reformat and Bloatware Removal Guide]. Thanks to those that made this thread possible! I had to reinstall all drivers[dell.com] but I'm not sure whether I should install the one labeled "Dell System Software" it is a 40.1MB file that may contain much of Dell's bloatware.

I'm looking at buying a Dell. I already have an old Dell machine. If I buy the Dell it will come with Vista Home Basic. Can I use my old Dell recovery discs to downgrade the laptop to XP Home? Will there be any issues with drivers, etc?
I been working part time in computer service for 2 years now. Most notebook that come in are Dells, while Dell owns only 30% of Ukrainian laptop market. I have seen Dells that literally fall apart while under 3 years of usage. Most low to middle price boxes seem to be build from cheap plastic and 2nd grade parts. Am I mistaken, is it a local phenomenon? What are your opinions of Dell notebooks?

Is there a way to fix this? I did not get any recovery cd with my pc, only a few drivers, not this one.
