why my phone is receiving calls, text, and emails but my key pad is not working?
i have this message on my BB curve 9300 : net_rim_bb_pieshone_app(911) not responding process,
My blackberry curve 8520 keyboard is unresponsive. I have done several hard resets removing the battery sim card and memory card. Once I put all of the components back in the phone it restarts and brings me to the screen to enter my keyboard password. When I press the keys none of them respond and the screen stays blank and eventually dims away. NO keys word and the scroll pad will only scroll but not select. I am in dire need of a solution-
I have a BB Curve 3G 9300 which I have bought in London about 14 months ago.Right now I am in Brazil & the track / touch pad from my BB does not work at all. I was looking up on the internet & found out that there was a faulty batch with this issue.I cannot use my phone because the trackpad is faulty. What can I do in order to get it fixed or replaced?is there any other option for me to get my normal phone back?
I have a blackberry curve 9300 thats about 1 months old. Two days ago the trackpad started to work only with ALT or SHIFT keys.Problem is:Situation 1) In the home menu the track pad scrolls great. It can move up to change ring settings, left, right, down, etc. Completely normal.Situation 2) I press the menu key and the trackpad no longer works. I can't scroll left right up or down through the icons. Now when I try holding the alt key OR the shift key, the track pad works again.. Only in some menus do I need to hold the alt or shift key to activate the track pad (and I need to hold the shift or alt key for the track pad to work, ie, if I release the alt/shift key it no longer responds)Situation 3) When sending a text message when I use the track pad to scroll down and send a message, it takes the last character and cycles through the symbols for that characterSpecs:Phone: Blackberry 9300 CurveSoftware: v184.108.40.2065 (Platform 220.127.116.11) Done:I've tried the factory reset, removing the batter, removing the sim, etc.
I'm having issues with the keyboard on my BB Curve 8900 (T-Mobile Austria (in Europe)). Can't get any of the keys to respond, unless I hold down either of the following four keys - P/@; del; enter; num lock (all on right side of keyboard). Everything else works fine, but I have to hold down one of those four keys to get the phone to do anything.
How I can adjust the tone volume for the Key Pad tone for BB Torch 9800, because when I am dialing the numbers rarely I can hear the tone (very low)
The keys on the key pad of my BB curve 8520 are inverted (4 of them) when I press the A key I get the Q and vise versa and so are the W and the Z. The funny thing is that the symbol keys on those same keys are correct! How I can correct this.
My keys are "sticking" and my mouse pad is not responding to touch. Info: PowerBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
My BB Bold 9780's key pad and track pad is not responding. I have a doubt that this might be coz of sweat as these days it too hot in Delhi, India.
In BB the dial pad is not responding, only "0" is working no other keys are responding like 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9...rest of tuch screen is working fine.
am currently looking at buying a XPRT and making the switch from BB.I am currently a BB Curve user on the Sprint network. I tried a non-BB phone and got the Android Samsung Intercept about a year ago and HATED it. After a month or two of using it, it became obvious to me that 1- I needed a physical keypad (without sliding) like the BB model. 2- I hated the dialing on the touchscreen phone. Most notably I missed the "quick dial shortcut" feature on the BBWhen I see screen shots of the XPRT, it doesn't look like you can dial on the keypad (albeit small, BB has the 1-9 keypad on the left side of the QWERTY board). Not a huge thing if not. But what is huge is having the ability to assign "shortcuts" to the keypad for dialing. In other words, for example, can I press and hold the "D" key on the keypad and it calls whoever I assign to the "D" key?If the phone itself doesn't offer this function, is there an App for it?
I was sent a BBM Group Request. I responded but now the request will not disappear from my notifications. I have a BB Curve 9300.I've tried everything I can think of. I've gone back and tried to respond again, I left the group, I turned the phone off and on again, etc. Nothing I can think of seems to be working.
I need to backup my Curve but the BB manager would not accept my pin. I am keying it in but the cursor is not showing any sings that it is being typed in. The phone is not accepting the password and it is one try away from cleaning the phone. I need to backup before that happens
Error code is appering on my blackberry curve 8520 net_rim_bb_addressbook_app(243) is not responding and also Im unable to enter and edit contact on my phone
I am not able to charge by new BB curve 9320 through USB Socket,
I tried to dial a phone number today (1888)BESTBUY. Well, it was impossible with this phone. The number keys don't correspond with the number keys on a typical phone, so I had no idea how to actually dial the number. On my old Treo, I could pull up a standard dial pad on the screen so that I could tell what the numbers are in this situation. There's gotta be a way to do this on the BB.
My BB phone doesn't have a dial pad. Is this true for all other BB phones? Whenever I typed numbers on the standby screen and instead of calling that set of numbers, I ended up searching that number on my phone. I mean, is there any way to access dial pad for easy calling? It is really contrasting to all other phone makes.
After updating my Curve 9300 with BB App World, my phone doesn't show the App World icon in apps folder.
How do I lock my BB Curve and when incoming calls come in no one is able to see the number or can answer the phone
I have a BB Torch 9860, when I have the phone in a case or in my pocket I have trouble with the BB menu key and the return key not responding. I have tried many different things to get it to work again including pressing on the buttons many times one after the other. This sometimes works! I also try removing battery the putting it back in, this also sometimes works. If I leave my phone on the arm of the sofa when not in use it works fine. This is really confusing! is this a software error or phone error? it only seamed to start doing it when I updated the software to BB 7 from BB 6.
I am a first time BB user and I need some help setting up my internet browser properly on my BB Curve.
I have a 9860 and would like to know how to turn off dial pad tones: when I key a phone number I hear a tone after keying each number. It is very annoying when I weak headset. The option Turn on/off key tones (in Typing and Input > Keyboard ; Select the Key Tone checkbox) works only for the alphanumeric key board, but not for the numeric phone dial pad.
I am a new BB user and need some assistance.I currently use Comcast as my email provider.I am able to send and recieve emails to my BB, but not sync or reconcile. I would like to mark the messages as sent/responded to.Also, If I delete a message on my BB or my computer I want it deleted on both devices.I want to be able to respond to email using my BB and my Comcast email. I guess it is something to do with the POP?This seems super silly and quite a bit of extra work to double delete items, or to re-read messages. Every other phone does not seem to have an issue, not even my 5 year old phone. Is the issue a BB thing?
I have a Windows 7 PC (64 bits). I have installed today the BB Desktop SW version 18.104.22.168 from BB website. It works fine with my old BB Curve 8900 palm phone, but does not recognize at all my newest BB Curve 9360 palm phone. In particular when I connect the BB device with the microUSB cable to the USB port of the PC, Windows 7 complains to have not installed properly the Device Driver of the BB palm phone. If I look at the PC Device Drivers Management I can see a BlacBerry driver version 22.214.171.124 of 23/06/2011 from research Un Motion.Windows complain that the device type is unknown, all what it says is "Reinstall the drivers for this device. (Code 18)".
I bought a slightly used 9550 and i'm from Srilanka. I use an application which some times would not respond and can't be close from the menu as the menue is not pop up when i press the bb key. When this app stucks touch screen won't work fine and when am pressing an icon, phone highlights another icon. Is there any method to close this stuck app other than removing the battary.
My recently-purchased bb bold 9790 keeps stalling, even during charging! I have to reset the system whenever this happens (and the battery cover's really hard to remove), and it's really frustrating because I cannot text nor call etc. I had bought the phone from amazon and they told me to contact the manufacturer for help before they do any refunds/exchanges I had the same system hanging problem with my previous bb curve as well, though I am sure I've been treating my phones well so it's definitely not due to abusive use.
I am curious about BB Desktop Manager 5.0. My Curve 8310 came with BB Tools but it is version 4.3. I downloaded 5.0 from BB website and when I plugged in my 8310 with software version 126.96.36.199 it displayed about a dozen updates to my phone. I declined the updates for now because I didnt want to hack up my phone. Is it ok to update with the 5.0 version or should I stick to the 4.3?
I have a BB Torch 9800, when I click to use BBM I get a message "uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException" now please if you know how to resolve this please be simple and discriptive (I am not an **bleep** - but this is my first BB phone). I have no idea how to resolve this issue, most of what I have seen talks about curve or bold hand sets who have updated their OS - I have neither phone or updated my OS.
I've just changed my track pad and housing on my blackberry curve, but the phone wont stay on. It is loading up but when it gets to the home screen it is telling me turning device off, press any key to abort but even when i press a key it turns off anyway.
Have had my Curve for ages and added a contact a day or so ago. Upgraded some applications from BB World (don't know if there is a connection) and tried adding a new contact but this error message appears: Uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_addressbook_app (216) is not responding; process terminated (by the way the two upgrades were for Twitter and BB Messenger)Is it coincidence that I've just installed a couple of upgrades and this has now happened?
my bb curve 8530 will not find or listen to a Plantronics E220 Bluetooth
I just bought a BB Storm and used to own a BB Curve. I gave my BB Curve to my daughter for her to use, I performed a tranfer of information to and from BB's but my email account is still active on my BB Curve. I tried doing the complete wipe out but it is still there, how can I delete my e-mail from my old BB?????
I Have Never Ever Owned A Bb Ever, And I Have Extremely Interested On Purchasing The New Bb Curve 8330 From Metro Pcs. My Main Concern Before I Purchase This Particular Phone (which Cost $449.00) Is That I Have A Excel Spreadsheet File With Over 2000 Phone Numbers And I Want To Literally Import All Of Those Phone Numbers At Once.My Second Question Is That I Would Like To Know How Many Contacts Can I Store On This Particular Phone. Please Let Me Know If There Is Anyone Out There That Can Help Me.Currently Metro Pcs Does Not Have A Technical Department So There Isn't Anybody That I Can Asked Technical Questions To.
I am new to the BB Curve 8330 (first BB for me) and I would like to turn off the sound to the keypad when I am dialing a phone number. In Options I did turn off the "keypad" but when using the phone it still has the sound. I prefer it off or would at least like to turn it down to next to nothing.
My curve seems to randomly freeze when multiple reminders flash up.Everything on the curve works, but the reminder is frozen and will not go away. I can even see the application in the background responding to my key inputs, but I cannot make the reminder go away and cannot use the curve without pulling the battery to make the reminder go away.
I have a 8330 Curve. Over the holidays I received a phone call, when I tried to answer the BB wouldn't respond to any of the keys. It seems to be completely locked, none of the function keys, phone keys or trackball do anything. Like I mentioned, it just started this during a time when it had been inactive for a couple of days, as I tried to answer an incoming call, it was locked. Is there a software fix that can be done to solve this, or is this a hardware issue? Also, if I have to return it, is there a way to wipe the 8330 with out being able to get to the Options menu or enter any input from the keyboard or track ball?

I have a bb 8330, and i have an SDHC 4gb card for music and pictures and stuff. recently, my bb will freeze up if the memory card is physically installed into the bb. by freeze, i mean the bb will not respond to any key strokes, except a soft reboot (ctl-alt-del) or a battery pull.
I have E63 which i have purchased just 5 months back. Key pad works in bizzare manner, some time it works and some times it doesnt even respond. From past 2 days i couldnt unlock my phone since the unlock key is not working/responding, only the red(disconnect) key works. This happened many times in this month, the whole thing goes down for few hours and suddenly again it starts working. i have forcibly restarted the phone by removing and replacing the battery but no use. is there any mothd to format the phone, i have tried answerkey+*+3 it didnt work. Please help me out.
I've had my BB Curve since Dec. Can anyone explain why sometimes my emails are pushed automatically and my BB notifies me via tone/vibration, yet other times I only receive my emails only come to my BB after I "wake it up" by picking up the device pushing a key to use the internet? I just picked it up to use the internet and 5 emails came through, some of which were 4-5 hours old. Hope this isn't a dumb question, I'm an older-not-very-tech-savvy lady.
Maybe I'm missing the obvious since the FAQ's here state that BB should be as easy to use as or even superior to Palm .... but I've been flailing here with a new Curve. My wife will be the main user on this device, and she uses her current Samsung i500 (Palm/phone) heavily for kids' schedules. On the BB device, I see how it's possible to enter repeating events etc. into a calendar. But on the desktop (ver 4.3), I can't find a way to enter the info... what am I missing? Also, with the sync setup it's asking me for an ASCII text file - is this a sick joke? Isn't there a built-in Calendar application in the BB Desktop that will sync to the BB curve? I've been playing with this for the past few days, and can attest that the help files and skimpy program documentation that came with BB curve stinks.
I am using curve 9320 blackberry handset. I found a new type of problem while using the data transfer via Bluetooth (BTh). If I wish to transfer the data to the sama model i.e. 9320 to 9320 it works fine but as soon as i wish to transfer the data from my 9320 to BB curve 8520 the data transferred failed. On the same time the data from 8520 BB curve to 9320 is nicely transferred on my curve 9320.
Just about every day, my BlackBerry Curve 8530 becomes unresponsive to any keys. I use Password Lock (because I have no choice--I upgraded and lost Keyboard Lock) and if I see that the red light is blinking and I go to "sign in" and it won't respond to any keys, including the convenience keys, dial/hang-up, trackpad and click, and Media buttons. However, the phone is still operating and will respond to new messages coming in, phone calls (though you can't use any keys), and Bluetooth, etc. I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing fixes it except for pulling the battery (and waiting for it to restart--which takes longer than my computers). This did not happen back under Keyboard Lock before I upgraded the first time. I'm currently on 188.8.131.524.Does anyone have any idea of what's happening, or what can be done to get out of the situation when it does occur, short of yanking the battery?
I bought a Curve 8520 in Singapore yesterday. When i tried to download App world into this phone, it says "my phone does not meet the system requirement for the software". does it refer to hardware specification or the BB O/s version on the phone. How can fix it because being able to use App world is one of the purposes that i buy a BB.Also, How about MS Live Messenger , facebook ? Do I need to install them seperately through App World?
wandered if someone could diagnose what's up with my BB, curve 8520 and maybe also gimmie a solution to my problems! ... Here's pretty much all of it ... I think, I know a lot of you can relate because this seems to be a very popular problem...Bout a week ago my bb randomly started messin me about, first the 'L' key along with the 'alt' key and then also the 'A' key, they were stuttering, typing on there own, sometimes wouldn't work at all, they would even pop up when I typed a different key! also there would be times were my phone would freeze and I'd have to hold down a button for roughly 10 seconds to get a response, also all buttons including mute, side buttons, keypad etc.. would stop working all together, only track bar would work but I could only scroll, I also cannot use my phone whilst chargers in, on rare occasions my phone fixes itself, then brakes around 5-10 mins later
I recently had water damage to my BB Curve 9300 phone, stupidly I had not relaised but transfered all my contacts from SIM to phone Of course all this info got wiped when the phone was repaired. But i had registred with Blackberry ID and got a few apps one of which was BB Protect, backing up all my contacts etc. However now when I go to enter my email and password for BB ID it does not recognise me, I have tried 'forgot password' and the same happens, it does not recognise my email or any other emails I use. I have spoken to O2 and they say they can see I registered with BB and state if I had apps must have registered an email address. I am going mad because they must have an address and password for me as they allowed me to get other free apps, therefore my info must be on their system. I don't want to re-register as BB Protect will not recognise the new name or will it? Does it take other info when you register, like the PIN or IMEI?
my BB 8520 curve crashed (app error 523) and service center says they'd take 8 days to repair. I have a spare 8520 and I have been unsucessfully trying to load saved data from old BB from my Laptop to new BB. problem is the device software asks for old BB to be plugged in. what i primarily need is the phone book and messages, if not entire data.
I am looking for some help on getting access to media that was encrypted on the 128MD micro SD card that came with my original BB Curve (qwerty). Some time back my original BB was damaged and my company's internal IT dept gave me a temporary Curve BB (azerty). That BB came with an SD card which I replaced with my original SD card. When my new BB Curve (qwerty) got in, I handed over the temporary one (azerty) and kept my original micro SD card. Now I need to access the content of that micro SD card and am having a hard time doing so. I can't remember if the original micro SD card was only encrypted with a password or a device key as well. I have tried to use what I think the encryption key was on the micro SD I need to access by use of the new BB Curve (qwerty). I get my 5 try's then remove and re-insert the micro SD card. All this to no avail. Now, the content is very important to me and I am willing to go through any formal process to get at the content. Can anyone tell me how to reach someone at RIM (BlackBerry) to discuss this, or if there is any legal way of getting at the content. (I can confirm the content before it is decrypted). The issues I have here are: 1) not sure if the card was encrypted with a password and a device key (in which case I have a further dilemma in that the original device (BB Curve qwerty) has been retired and is no longer available for use) or just a password. Is there a way to find this out? 2) Because I use so many different passwords on all the devices I have to use, I am not even sure I am trying the right one for this micro SD card. Plus having gone from a qwerty to azerty, then back to a qwerty keyboard, I am not sure I am using the right password to decrypt. I am however able to provide the full password if given the 1st character of the encryption password. I am not looking to do anything illegal but truly need to access the encrypted content. As such I am reaching out to the community and looking for any help available such as contact at RIM, formal process to decrypt, hints, clues. Anything to move this forward.
I have a new N73 and understand how to manually lock the key-pad (left top key+star). Is there a way (like in most phones with visible key-pad) to set a timer for the auto-locking mechanism of the keys? It seems a basic function but I can not find it in the manual...
I have a BB 8900 Curve. Is there a way to do keyboard macros to turn phone to airplane mode or off? Similar to the Q speeddial key that puts the phone on Quiet mode?
My BB Torch keyboard suddenly stopped working and cannot even input the password to unblock. I found out after several trials (don't ask me how many) that if I slided open and closed 2 times and then I press twice the "alt" button the keyboard starts working. Also the side button that I had for the camera is not working. Digital keyboard works fine. When the keyboard does not work, the outside keys (call, back, BB, touch pad, hang up) do not work either..
my buddy borrowed my bb curve 8320 cuz his N95 broke, now he got it fixed and wants to return my bb, but neither myself or him has any idea how to transfer contacts from bb to pc and from pc to nokia.it will be great if someone can help me figure this out and so i can get my phone back, as i am really desperate for that.
I have a Curve 8530 and might be upgraping to the Tour. My question is, I have backed up my Curve on my pc using the BB Desktop Magager. Will I be able to restore all my phone contacts, bbm contacts, pics, music, etc from the Curve to the Tour using that back up? Or are they not compatable?
My Curve 8900 will hang or freeze and not respond to any button presses after i hit the unlock key after its been keyboard locked for more than a few minutes. 2 - 6 seconds doesnt seem like that long but when you need to quickly make a phone call or check something its annoying to hit unlock and have to stare at your screen for a few seconds before you can do anything...
I just got a Acer Aspire V3 771-6605 with Windows 8.1. My touch pad wouldn't scroll or respond to any finger gestures, so I tried installing the ELANTECH and Synaptics touch pad drivers from the acer support site for my laptop. However, after I restarted the computer I keep getting stuck at the screen right before where you put in your password (the lock screen?). The only keys that seem to do anything are the function keys.
I just upgraded my bb from a curve 8520 to a bold 9790...some of the complementary apps offered from RIM as a 'thank you' gift are not compatible with this device (mainly Shazam, which i love and really want)does any one know if this will be changed before the dec 31 deadline of the apps being free? if not will rim still offer users of this phone the apps for free as it is not our fault we can not download the apps yet...i upgraded my phone and because of that i am losing out on benefits that RIM offers...
