The colored rows will jump back to their original index number.Click on several rows to make them red. Click the "Remove Item 5" button to remove item 5 from the listview. If you now click on on a white row again to make it red, then all red rows below item 5 will jump back to their original index number. How can I solve that, so a row will keep the new color even if the index of that row changes?Thank you.

Android :: Catching Selection Events For Custom List Items groups.google.com

I thought I knew how to catch list selection events in Android and then I regained consciousness. In my situation, I have a ListView that I populate with a custom view, all of the same class (let's call it the NewsChannel() class). NewsChannel consists of a LinearLayout of ImageViews and TextViews. When the list is displayed, the user may select a NewsChannel item in the list; I want to find out which list item was selected. Also, I registered an onClickListener to one of the TextViews and that works fine: when the text is clicked on, an activity is launched which is looking for the position of the NewsChannel item in the list. So, here's what my code looks like: 1. Registering the onClickListener in the ListActivity: public class NewsListActivity extends ListActivity {... public void onCreate(Bundle icicle) { super.onCreate(icicle); setContentView(R.layout.news_list_format); ListView lv = getListView(); lv.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() { public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, int position, long id) { // When clicked, show a toast with the TextView text item_index = position; Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), "item clicked = " + position, Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); }}); ... 2. The layout for the ListView associated with NewsListActivity: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/ android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:background="@drawable/wpaper_tile" > <ListView android:id="@id/android:list" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_alignParentTop="true" android:dividerHeight="15dp" android:divider="@android:color/transparent" android:cacheColorHint="@android:color/transparent" android:scrollbars="none" /> <FrameLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="55dp" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:background="#88000000"/> <ImageView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:src="@drawable/phonetop_bg" /> </RelativeLayout> 3. The NewsChannel layout: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns: android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/ android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <include layout="@layout/news_heading_format" android:id="@+id/news_heading_header"/> <ImageView android:id="@+id/news_channel_image" android:layout_width="88dp" android:layout_height="66dp" android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" android:layout_below="@id/news_heading_header" android:padding="10dp" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/news_channel_text" android:lines="4" android:inputType="textMultiLine" android:layout_toRightOf="@id/news_channel_image" android:layout_below="@id/news_heading_header" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"/> </RelativeLayout> When I run the app, the ItemClickListener is never called. However, if NewsChannel were of a simpler type, say, a single ImageView or TextView embedded in the layout, the callback does get called. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? My whole goal is simply to let the activity launched by NewsChannel (not shown) to find out which instance of NewsChannel it was launched from.

Android :: Single Select Without Checkbox stackoverflow.com

I'd like to make a listview that used the ListView.CHOICE_MODE_SINGLE so that the user could only select one thing at a time. A good example of what I'm trying to do would be basically any file browser, where the background changes color on each item you select in sequence.

Android : Change Item In Listview After Clicking? groups.google.com

I've created a rather complex layout for listview rows where only the first line is visible (the rest use android:visibility="hidden"). When an item is selected, I want all the invisible objects to appear (selected.setVisibility(1)) - checking first if I have to hide again the previous selection. Here's the (simplified) code.. The problem is that this only retrieves the invisible items in the first Listview row. What's the way to access ListView rows and change 'em?

Listview - Color Of SelectediItem www.vbforums.com

Got a rookie(?)-problem.I have 2 listviews. Each contains a list of products. When i click on an item one of the listviews the item is selected. That means it's background-color is dark-blue. Now I click an item in the second listview, that means the first listview looses focus and the color of the selected item changes from dark-blue to grey. (HideSelection = false). The item in the second listview is now dark blue. This is the same effect like always under Windows ( control with focus = selection is dark blue; control without focus = selection is grey)Can I change the color of a control (that has lost the focus) from grey to any other color?I want to give the user the possibility to select 1 item in each listview an then click on a button and say: merge these two products. But one of the selected Items in the listviews is alway grey. I want them always to be dark-blue (even when the listview loses focus), so that the user can exactly see which of the product he merges. Is that a general Windows-Problem? Can I influence the selection-Color without using API? I'm new in VB and don't know much about API, so I would like not to use it.Hope you understand my englishthx in advanceSchorschM

Android : Can't Create Multiple ListViews In One Activity groups.google.com

I want to have multiple listviews in my activity. Every listview will have a different adapter and every item in the listview must be clickable (other actions for every listview). So my problem now is that I can't create multiple clickable listviews. I have one listview like this <ListView android:id="@android:id/ list".. and the other listview looks like this <ListView android:id="@+id/ flightList" The first listview looks like this in my activity hotelList = (ListView)findViewById(android.R.id.list); the second: listView = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.flightList); I can click on the first list and it does what it has to do, but i cant do anything with the second list.. probably because it hasn't the android:id/list declaration. does someone knows how I can solve this problem or other suggestions how I can get multiple lists in 1 activity.

Android :: Binding Data From Database To Checkbox In ListView? stackoverflow.com

I'm trying to bind data from my SQLiteDatabase to a ListView. I'm currently using a SimpleCursorAdapter to fill in my ListView. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work with setting a CheckBox's checked attribute. This is how I do it now; instead of changing the CheckBox's checked status the adapter is filling in the value to the text argument, so the value is displayed right of the CheckBox as text. Java: setListAdapter( new SimpleCursorAdapter( this, R.layout.mylist, data, new String[] { Datenbank.DB_STATE, Datenbank.DB_NAME }, new int[] { R.id.list_checkbox, R.id.list_text } ) ); mylist.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout android:id="@+id/LinearLayout01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" > <CheckBox android:text="" android:id="@+id/list_checkbox" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:checked="false" > </CheckBox> <TextView android:text="" android:id="@+id/list_text" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" > </TextView> </LinearLayout> The field in the database is of course of type boolean and I've also tried to assign an id to the checked field to fill the value in.

Simple ListView && Label Query! www.vbforums.com

A Form named Form1, has a ListView with 4 items. The Form has a Label named Label1 & a CommandButton named Command1 as well. When any of the 4 items in the ListView is selected, the Caption of Label1 changes to the Text of the selected item in the ListView. Assume that the Text of the 4 items in the ListView are India, Japan, China & Korea. When this Form loads, by default, the 1st item in the ListView is selected & the Caption of Label1 is India. When the 2nd item in the ListView is selected, the Caption of Label1 changes to Japan. Similarly, selecting the 3rd & the 4th item in the ListView changes the Caption of Label1 to China & Korea respectively. Note that if the 1st item in the ListView is selected, the CommandButton gets disabled. This is how I am changing the Caption of Label1:VB Code:Private Sub ListView!_Click()    Label1.Caption = ListView1.SelectedItem.TextEnd Sub The above code works fine. When the CommandButton is clicked, another Form named Form2 opens:VB Code:Private Sub Command1_Click()    Form2.Show 1, MeEnd Sub Very simple code!Form2 has a TextBox named Text1 which I want should get populated with the Caption of Label1 just before clicking the CommandButton. So for e.g., if the Caption of Label1 is China & then Command1 is clicked, the Text of Text1 in Form2 should be China. If the Caption of Label1 is Japan & then Command1 is clicked, the Text of Text1 in Form2 should be Japan so on & so forth. This is how I am populating the TextBox in Form2:VB Code:Private Sub Form_Load()    Text1.Text = Form1.Label1.CaptionEnd Sub Such an easy thing but I don't know why the Text in Text1 always shows India irrespective of whther the Caption of Label1 in Form1 is Japan, China or Korea!I don't know where am I erring. Somebody please help me sort out this problem!

Interface And Graphics :: Colours Disappear On Listview Index Change? www.xtremevbtalk.com

I have a listview with a number of items with different color backrounds on each. But when i click on one of the items, the color of the item that the selection has just left turns to white, but it is recognised as being green/blue/whatever. If i open up another form on top of that one, and then close it, the colour comes back for the area that the form was covering. I have a textbox that changes its backround color based on the color of the listview item currently selected, and that always shows the correct color. I'v crawled the web and can only find one instance of it happening and that was a graphics accelerator problem, but i cant turn off my accelerator.

SetText Changing Wrong Text androidforums.com

I've searched using a couple of the above keywords and found nothing.Basically I have a layout with a few textview elements a few edittext elements and a few buttons. In the java any incorrect entries by the user in the edittext elements should change a textview element which acts as user instructions to prompt the user to make corrections, the problem is it actually changes one of the button texts. Here is the code for the layout (activity_main.xml): Code: <TextView android:id="@+id/textView1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" android:layout_below="@+id/button4" android:layout_marginTop="26dp" android:background="@color/yellow" android:gravity="center_horizontal" android:text="@string/hello_world" android:textColor="@color/red" /> [code].. I know this worked as intended when I only had buttons 1-3, but adding 4 and 5 seems to have started something odd, I can't see anything wrong so am guessing this is a stupid mistake on my part. For reference it is button4 which has it's text changed by the java code. My only thought was that this was something more complicated caused by relative layout and inheritence.
