Actionscript :: Decode In Java The Strings Encoded By An Escape()? stackoverflow.com

I have an environment where strings are percent encoded by Actionscript escape() function and then passed to Java for decoding.I have for example a test string "m é". It is passed to Actionscript escape() that outputs "m%20%E9" When I try to decode it with Java: URLDecoder.decode("m%20%E9", "UTF-8") The result is: "m ?" %E9 seems the unicode point for "é" character, but it is not quite understood by Java decode. Is there a way to decode in Java the strings encoded by Actionscript escape()?What escape format do these function use since they seem to be different?

VB Encode/Decode Button Help www.xtremevbtalk.com

Would anyone (in relation to this program) know how to do the following:(Located At: http://www.utsc.utoronto.ca/~andria/a02w05/a2/a2.html)Encode/Decode ButtonImplementation of the Encode/Decode button is worth 1 mark out of 10 on this assignment. Please note that this is only one button that has either the word "Encode" or "Decode" displayed on it at any given time. You do not need to do any error checking at all for this button. You can write your code assuming that whenever the Encode/Decode button is pressed, the customer name text box will always contain a name that is at least three characters long. The Encode/Decode command button doesn't have any useful purpose other than to give you practice with using string functions and using a loop (since you MUST use a loop to go through characters in the name, one character at a time, to reverse the characters). Initially this button will have the word Encode written on it. When the user presses the Encode button, it encodes the name that is currently in the customer name text box by reversering the order of the last three characters in the customer name text box. Once the Encode command button is clicked, the name that was in the customer name text box is replaced by this new encoded name, and the text showing on the command button is changed so that the command button now displays the word Decode. By pressing the Decode button, the name in the text box should change back to its original form, and the word showing on this command button should change to Encode. You can continually click on the Encode and Decode buttons to change the name back and forth between encoded and decoded form. The focus stays on this button when pressed. For example, if the name "Jane Smith" was in the name text box and the user clicked on Encode, the name in this text box would change to "Jane Smhti" and the button would change to Decode.

Flex - Prevent Ie From Decoding A Utf-8 Url In Flash? stackoverflow.com

I'm finding that in flash (10.x at least) and ie (7, 8, 9) that if I try to load an image url that contains escaped utf-8 characters (p%C3%83%C2%A5) that the characters get decoded before it makes the url request, even if I double or triple encode them. Is there any way to prevent this so the url (with escapes) the way I want it is actually what is requested? The problem its causing is we give a http status of 301 on utf-8 decoded url requests to the encoded url which flash then tries to request (but ie decodes it again) and I get stuck in an infinite loop because of the 301 + ie auto-decoding. EDIT, adding code sample: var url:URLRequest = new URLRequest('http://mydomain.com/p%C3%A5.jpg'); var loader:Loader = new Loader(); loader.load(url); Now I want the request to go over the line as [URL] (and it does in other browsers), but in IE it goes over the line as [URL] EDIT: replacing % with %25 (double encoding the %) but that didn't work, it just caused this request to go over the wire: [URL]

I have some data that won't printf. echo works, but not printf There is data in the string, also simplexml_load_string won't parse the string. There is some binary or invisible character that I cannot see and can't get the ordinal value for that is causing printf to fail as well as most other string functions in PHP. Clearly this is an encoding issue, however, I don't know how to find out what it is so I can properly encode/decode it. [Code]...

Request.Querystring Without Decoding Possible? forums.asp.net

I need to get the content of a querystring without decoding it. So if I use request.querystring and I'm accessing a string like aspnet%20forums, I will get "aspnet forums". However, I just want to get the full "aspnet%20forums" without any decoding taking place. Is this possible? My guess is no as request.querystring appears to automatically decode, but I was wondering if there is a way of stopping this? Curently I am having to use request.querystring and then re-encode the string using server.urlencode - this works, but it's not efficient really as I am decoding then re-encoding..

Which Of These Modes : Cbc - Cfb - Ctr - Ecb - Ncfb - Nofb - Ofb - Stream Are Secure stackoverflow.com

By security I mean that encoded string is indistinguishable from random noise and is different on every encryption of the same text so it is impossible to make a guess on encryption algorithm used or do any dictionary attack on the encoded text. Second: output string length does not correspond to the input string length in easy way, so it is not possible of make guessing on that account. Third: it is possible to verify that the provided password is incorrect so the decoding function could return false instead of supposedly decoded random string. edit: this is how fast given pair of algorithm and mode is encoding: [Code..........] Going from top to bottom which will be safest ?

MVC :: HttpUtility.Decode Does Not Work In TextBox Or TextArea? forums.asp.net

I am trying to render html encoded string that is stored in SQL Server into human readable form. The HttpUtility.Decode does not decode the text that is rendered in between the open tag and closing tag of any input tag (ie. TextBox or TextArea or Select) in my ASPX page. However, HttpUtility.Decode works fine if the text is not in an input tag. The following is my test code. For example, the value of AdmitDX field in database is "Someone's comment" which is "Someone's comment" when decoded. The first two code nuggets <%%> will show as "Someone's comment" and the thrid code nugget will show "Someone's comment". <!-- the following two lines have html encoded text, instead of html decoded text --> <%= Html.TextArea("AdmitDX", HttpUtility.HtmlDecode(thisTransfer.AdmitDX))%> <%= Html.TextBox("AdmitDX", HttpUtility.HtmlDecode(thisTransfer.AdmitDX)) %> <!-- the next line works fine --> Test = <%= HttpUtility.HtmlDecode(thisTransfer.AdmitDX) %>

Does ZendAMF Compress Data Automatically When Sending From Flash Client To The Zend Amd End Point stackoverflow.com

If I sent two strings from my flash movie using actionscript 3... var name:String = "Name of my item"; var description:String = "Description of my item here"; var byteArray:ByteArray = PNGEncoder.encode(mySprite); Do i have to compress the byte array using as3 byteArray.compress() or does that even have any effect on this process?

Android :: Web View Encoding? Why? groups.google.com

I have started to work with the WebView component of Android Platform, but the API to load data to the component is confusing me, because it includes a parameter with a encoding. In both methods: public void loadData (String data, String mimeType, String encoding); public void loadDataWithBaseURL (String baseUrl, String data, String mimeType, String encoding, String historyUrl); you have to specify an encoding. In both cases, the API documentation says that is is the encodign of the data (data parameter). Well, as know, if you provide data as a String object, the String is internally stored in UTF-16 (unicode). To get a String object from a external source, you need to specify the external source encoding to convert it to UTF-16 and get the String internal representation (String(byte[] data, String encoding)). So, at this moment, when you have an String instance, everything from the original source has been converted to UTF-16. So, why do you need to specify an encoding if you are providing the data as a String object? I don't know the internal implementation of WebKit, but let's suppose that, WebKit has a method, to render a source, providing as content an InputStream and a default encoding. Well, as I know, when you process a HTML page, you use the default encoding to read the HTML characters, and if you find a <meta> tag specifing a different encoding, from that moment, you have to use the new encoding to decode the characters of the HTML page. But what happens if you supply a HTML page that contains this <meta> tag: <meta HTTP-EQUIV="content-type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"/> using one of the methods specified at the top of this post, how are you going to read ISO-8859-1 encoding from a String that it is in UTF-16 encoding? if the WebKit filtering this <meta> tags, and doesn't taking in account the encoding specified in this tag? Well, all of this is very confusing for me, because I don't understand why the API includes this encoding parameter. I also don't know if the <meta> encoding tags are filtered when the source is provided as a String? Can anyone solve my doubts?

Javascript - UTF8 Russian Or Asian Strings? stackoverflow.com

I am having trouble properly encoding UTF8 strings. I am fetching data from meta title/description data of remote international website and then I use javascript to place the string into a input text box. Some sites encode properly, however some do not and return odd characters. For example two sites I am having trouble are:[URL] I have tried utf8_encode,decode etc, but cannot figure out a universal solution that will work with all sites.

I'd think decoding them if they're encoded would result in less space being used. Or is it generally bad practice to use decoded URL's altogether? What about decoding for the DB and encoding for display/links.

Web Forms :: When Entering "%" Character In The Searchbox It Started Giving Javascript Errors? forums.asp.net

have a search functionality in my application. When entering keyword in the search box(textbox), it will decode the keyword in querystring through javascript and give the desired search result.Problem: But when I am entering "%" character in the searchbox it started giving javascript errors. May be because "%" character is the part of encoding-decoding. I tried replacing "%" charcter with space but it will create another problem for encoding decoding.in fixing this issue. ActionScript 3.0 :: Corrupt Image When Uploading? www.actionscript.org

I am writing an app for android devices, it uses the CameraRoll class to retreive images from the gallery. It then catches the raw bytearray data and encodes it into a base64 string, then sends the string via httppost to a server that decodes the string and saves the file.Every part of this is fine except one detail, the images are corrupt when they are saved on the server. Except one thing that makes things weirder, when I load these corrupt jpg images into a flash app they work just fine.Previously I have made apps that uses the Camera class to take photos in the app, and this works fine, the reason I am using cameraroll is because I want to be able to get high quality images, which is not possible using the regular camera -> bitmapdata.draw -> jpegencode -> send method. The code is basically thi ActionScript Code: //mediaevent select is triggered var loader:Loader = new Loader(); [code].....

ActionScript 3.0 :: Encoding Image Data Into Binary Strings? www.actionscript.org

I'm trying to write a flash program that will import JPEG's and embed them into an XML string for storage. However, i'm having some trouble with casting them back into Bitmap objects, after encoding and decoding the strings in Base64. I've used the external Base64 encoding class created by Steve Webster, which seems to work great in encoding and decoding the files, but i'm clearly doing something wrong in my code. I'm not sure how exactly I should be converting the decoded bytecode back into an image object, and get flash to display it. Should it be a bitmapData? do I have to code it via setting the pixels manually? Or can I simply just cast it as a Bitmap object? here's a snippet of my code to show what I mean - At the moment this will return an error. Other things i've tried seem to return the object as a memory reference, rather than it's actual data. (trace statement) decoded.readObject() = Error: Error #2030: End of file was encountered. at flash.utils::ByteArray/readObject()" [Code].....

Does anyone know how to solve this issue? The output encoding of the page is UTF-8 if that helps.

Public Types, User Made Functions And Encryption - Problem www.vbforums.com

I'm having a little problem with my code, and honestly I havn't a clue whats the problem and I thought someone on here would.First things first, my two function. Code:Public Function Encode(Plain As String) As String Dim Index As Integer Dim Phi(1 To 4) As Double Dim PhiStr As String Dim ceaser As Integer, char As Integer Dim Coded As String Dim ln As Integer ln = Len(Plain) PhiStr = "0" Phi(1) = 0 Phi(2) = 1 Phi(3) = 0 Phi(4) = 0 Do While Index < ln Index = Index + 1 Phi(3) = Phi(2) Phi(4) = Phi(1) + Phi(2) Phi(1) = Phi(3) Phi(2) = Phi(4) PhiStr = PhiStr & Phi(4) Loop Index = 0 Do While Index < ln Index = Index + 1 ceaser = Mid(PhiStr, Index, 1) char = Asc(Mid(Plain, Index, 1)) Coded = Coded & chr(char + ceaser) Loop Encode = CodedEnd FunctionPublic Function Decode(ByVal Chyper As String) As String Dim Index As Integer Dim Phi(1 To 4) As Double Dim PhiStr As String Dim ceaser As Integer, char As Integer Dim Plain As String Dim ln As Integer ln = Len(Chyper) PhiStr = "0" Phi(1) = 0 Phi(2) = 1 Phi(3) = 0 Phi(4) = 0 Do While Index < ln Index = Index + 1 Phi(3) = Phi(2) Phi(4) = Phi(1) + Phi(2) Phi(1) = Phi(3) Phi(2) = Phi(4) PhiStr = PhiStr & Phi(4) Loop Index = 0 Do While Index < ln Index = Index + 1 ceaser = Mid(PhiStr, Index, 1) char = Asc(Mid(Chyper, Index, 1)) Plain = Plain & chr(char - ceaser) Loop Decode = PlainEnd FunctionThese two functions are just the opposites of each other, one codes, one decodes. The Public type / Array looks like this:Code:Public Type TeachersType FirstName As String SecondName As String LessonCodes As StringEnd TypePublic Teachers(1 To 200) As TeachersTypeNow this is where I've got some problems. The files are text files and do exist and are in the correct place.Code: Open TeachersPath For Input As #1 For i = 1 To 100 DoEvents With Teachers(i) Input #1, .FirstName Input #1, .LessonCodes Input #1, .SecondName End With proFile.Value = i Next i For i = 1 To 100 DoEvents With Teachers(i) Temp = LCase(Teachers(i).FirstName) MsgBox (Temp & " : " & Teachers(i).FirstName & " : " & Decode(Teachers(i).FirstName)) Teachers(i).LessonCodes = Decode(Teachers(i).LessonCodes) Teachers(i).SecondName = Decode(Teachers(i).SecondName) If Teachers(i).FirstName = "DELETED" Then NextFree.Teacher = i End With proFile.Value = i Next i Close #1The little test I've got in there gives the message box says "dhrnc]g : DHRNc]G : DGPK^UF" - The line in the file reads "DHRNc]G" and should be decoded as "DELETED".So going by those outpus I'm getting:- The LCase function is working fine.... - The file is being read correctly- My Decode function is doing somthing but its not doing it correctly. But when I test:Code:MsgBox ("Test: " & Decode(Encode("Test"))I get "Test : Test" so the functions are working.Anyone any ideas? I've got all the files here if you need me to upload anything just ask.~ichar

Encrypt / Decrypt With Private Key stackoverflow.com

I would like to implement some security in some of the Flash/PHP applications that I have. I have some Flash apps that communicate with PHP files, and the PHP is sending the data as get string ( e.g.: name=John&sname=Doe&age=24&balance=12.4 ). Instead of all these variables, I would like it to send a single variable ( e.g.: flashvar=jr9afgaw9-fg90agfawf7gw ) that would contain those values, so then Flash would decrypt the string and get the real and useful vars. I want to encrypt this using a private key and use the same private key to decrypt this inside Flash. If someone would want to decode the message PHP sends, he would have to decompile the flash file and find the private key I'm using in Flash to decode the message and then decode it. The reason I posted here is because I want to use an encryption algorithm that allows only the use of a private key for encryption/decryption.

Replicate Encode()/decode() Algorithyms www.sitepoint.com

I have an existing database with user's passwords stored/retrieved as: encode(password, 'saltString') / decode(encodedPasswordFromDB, 'saltString') I know passwords shouldnt be stored this way - thats another story! Anyway, Im migrating to Hibernate and would rather not have to write any SQL. If I can replicate what encode()/decode() does in Java code then I can avoid having to write any SQL code. If I cant achieve this then I will lose the ORM advantages of Hibernate since I will need to write the SQL querys myself in order that I make use of the native MySQL encode()/decode() functions. For example - Doing a SELECT ----------------------------- I let Hibernate do the ORM for me and get the encoded password from the database - then I use Java to replicate what decode() does to get my plain text password. I would really, really appreciate any useful suggestions on this.
